The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) threw cold water on an MS NOW “bombshell” about Director Kash Patel being in Russia, forcing an embarrassing retraction.
In its report, which cites the usual anonymous sources, the left-wing outlet claimed that the FBI boss had just landed in Russia for a meeting, an irresistible hook for the network’s viewers who were rabidly obsessed with Russiagate and the Trump-Putin conspiracy theories it peddled for years during President Donald J. Trump’s first term.
“We do have some breaking news we want to get to here on MS NOW. This is about the FBI Director, Kash Patel. MS NOW has learned that Patel has landed in Russia for a meeting scheduled to take place there,” anchor Peter Alexander claimed on Wednesday, citing “two people familiar with the matter.”
But there was a slight problem. It was total B.S.
The Bureau’s Rapid Response Team brutally fact-checked the former MSNBC report with proof that Patel was in Virginia and NOT Russia.

“Left: MS Now reports two sources familiar say Kash Patel just landed in Russia. Right: Here’s where Kash Patel actually is… Liberty U, doing a law enforcement appreciation event,” the FBI wrote in a post to X showing the head honcho giving a speech at a Liberty University law enforcement appreciation event. “MS Now’s ‘sources’ are ‘familiar’ with NOTHING!”
“Facts over clickbait,” Patel added, further dousing the fake news.

It should have been a dead giveaway that something was fishy with the big “scoop” when MS NOW trotted out notorious Deep State mouthpiece Ken Dilanian, who said that Patel’s trip to Russia had his FBI sources concerned the trip could “raise a lot of eyebrows.”
After his story collapsed, Dilanian was forced to publicly choke down a good-sized helping of crow by issuing an on-air retraction.
MSNOW reporter Ken Dilanian issues on-air retraction: “I want to correct reporting from earlier today. I reported that two sources had told us that FBI Director Kash Patel had landed in Russia for a planned trip that had been reported about recently.” https://t.co/thmw26Pe3j

“I want to correct reporting from earlier today. I reported that two sources had told us that FBI Director Kash Patel had landed in Russia for a planned trip that had been reported about recently. We’ve since learned that Patel did not, in fact, land in Russia today and remains in the U.S. The FBI did not answer our questions when they asked them about it,” he told viewers.
“But we do know now that he has not already landed in Russia, as we reported earlier. The timing of any potential trip remains unclear,” Dilanian continued. “Again, we regret this error, and we are transparent about when we make errors.”
Patel couldn’t resist rubbing it in.

“From Russia, with Love…,” he wrote in a post to X, clearly relishing MS NOW’s latest humiliation.
