U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., seems to be the only Democrat who can admit when President Donald Trump does something right.
As Congress continues to drag its feet on the partial government shutdown impacting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and more specifically, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), airline passengers are feeling the squeeze. The problem has become so bad that Trump sent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to help manage the chaos, and Fetterman believes this is an improvement.

“I was going to ask you if the situation has changed at all on the shutdown, right now,” independent journalist Nicholas Ballasy said to Fetterman.
“Well, on the shutdown, no, no,” the senator replied, adding that it’s getting “harder and harder to justify extending this shutdown.”
“I even brought up something more accessible to the average American, like the soccer fans, there’s millions,” he continued, remarking on the amount of air travel into and around the United States as the country prepares to host the FIFA World Cup. “And now, preparations are significantly behind. And now we’re 77 days out, and this is still shut down, and you have millions of people from abroad coming and millions of Americans joining these, too. And it’s like, if you’ve seen the kinds of chaos at airports, I can’t even imagine – you have millions coming here for [the] World Cup, and we are sitting on our hands.”
“I could never justify this from the start, but here we are, day 39, 40, whatever, it’s like, how long are we gonna continue that?”
“What did you think of Trump’s decision to put ICE agents in airports to help the process?” Ballasy asked.
“It seems that it has enhanced some kind of performance across there, yeah,” the Democrat admitted.
On Wednesday, Trump took a victory lap on Truth Social regarding the decision to help airports by utilizing ICE agents.
