Final DNC outfit of ‘Momala’s’ stepdaughter perfectly encapsulates Dem party. Bravo!

Vice President Kamala Harris’s tattooed stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, took center stage at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday evening, alongside the vice president’s niece, Meena Harris, and her goddaughter Helena Hudlin, whose mother first introduced Doug Emhoff to Kamala Harris.

The head scratching headlines that followed focused on the fact that the waif-like woman, wearing socks and Mary Jane shoes with a tattoo-revealing ballgown, is a model and apparently a new “fashion icon.”

Interestingly, some on the left reacted to the staged production by declaring that Ella, who likes to knit, is “going to be a fashion icon”– she reportedly crocheted the rose on the sleeve of her dress.

The Cut went so far as to claim that Ms. Emhoff, who looks like a plain Jane hipster trapped between the two genders, had the “best dress” at the DNC, reporting that she “caught attention once again with her distinctive style, wearing an off-the-shoulder dress with a pale blue bodice and a full white skirt designed by Joe Ando.”

Others seemed to agree:

People with class offered a reality check. Here are some real responses from the Daily Mail puff piece with the headline: “Ella Emhoff sets the internet alight with her appearance …”

Sure, she is. She looks like she was given a box or two of miscellaneous things from Goodwill, went into a darkened room, and literally dressed with her eyes closed.

And, let’s face it: If she wasn’t Kamala’s stepdaughter, absolutely no agency in their right mind would hire her as a model. She’s very plain and lacks vibrancy.

Ivanka is model material. She is vibrant, beautiful, has a nice smile, and dresses very nicely, especially compared to Ella.

A model? Maybe on how to repel male attention while making something approximating clothing from the cheapest items in a thrift store and a used bed sheet while ensuring change from a $5 bill.

If Ella is the new standard for class, elegance and beauty, then America is truly doomed.

“Kamala came into my life when I was 14, famously a very easy time for a teenager,” Ella said on stage. “Like a lot of young people, I didn’t always understand what I was feeling, but no matter what, Kamala was there for me. She was patient, caring, and always took me seriously. She’s never stopped listening to me and she’s not going to stop listening to all of us.”

Suggesting her stepmother, who she refers to as to as “Momala,” was focused on health, environmental, and social justice, Ella added, “She isn’t alone, we’re all in this fight together.”

When her father, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, spoke on Wednesday night, Ella did her best Jane Hathaway impression — see Beverly Hillbillies — cheering on dad in a suit:

As for the “Momala” moniker, it’s not clear if Ella took her cue from Drew Barrymore’s painfully embarrassing moment seen here:
