FL rapper shot dead MINUTES after taunting rivals online, sharing where he would be

A rapper in Florida rapper was killed on Friday after apparently taunting his rivals in a social media post that told them just where he would be.

Rollie Bands was “gunned down outside his Tampa apartment just five minutes after he shared a post on Instagram daring his critics to confront him, the Daily Mail reported.

“A lot of these n****s know where I live at fr,” the rapper posted to his Instagram story, according to HipHopDX. “I sleep in peace. If a n***a want smoke I’m at my crib in 5 mins.”

Minutes later, around 3:30 p.m., Bands would be shot in the parking lot of the IQ Apartments, according to the Daily Mail. He was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report of a man shot in the parking lot of the apartment complex and that the victim was rushed to a local hospital before dying from his injuries. Deputies said the victim likely knew the suspects.

“At this time, the shooting does not appear random, as the suspects and victim are possibly known to each other,” the HCSO said in a report.

There was some suggesting online that Bands brought his demise upon himself — Caution: Adult Language.

This view prompted one frustrated social media user to push back.

“Everyone sayin he deserves it is sick. Nobody deserves to die,” the user wrote. “People should be able to post what they want on the internet without having to worried about being shot anyways. Now that he’s shot he ‘deserves it’ why? Because of a story post right? Smh.”

HipHopDX noted that social media posts have led to other murders over the years.

“In 2020, Pop Smoke accidentally revealed the address of his rental in the Hollywood Hills via Instagram and was later the victim of a home invasion, which resulted in his untimely death,” the website said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is being asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200, or make an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 1-800-873-8477.
