After witnessing the latest violent, allegedly race-fueled antics of the WNBA, one attorney general warned what criminal charges would come if the same were tried in his red state.
Of late, the Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham has become a lightning rod for the rainbow mob in protest of her common-sense stance about protecting girls’ and women’s sports. Beyond the jeers, she faced a flagrant foul during Saturday’s game that found Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier (R) issuing a warning about “assault and battery.”
In a viral moment that led to her ejection and claims of “WHITE PRIVILEGE,” Chicago Sky’s DiJonai Carrington could be seen leaping toward Cunningham as the Fever star drove toward the net, wrapping her arm near the chin of the opponent and pulling her to the ground.
Uthmeier reacted, “The WNBA knows better than to play games down here in Florida, because I’ll be charging people with assault.”

Sunday, after Fox News quoted the Sunshine State’s top cop in juxtaposition with Carrington’s self-declared victimhood over her ejection, Uthmeier added, “I should probably clarify … assault and battery.”

Previously home to the Miami Sol and Orlando Miracle, as well as the 2020 WNBA season in response to COVID, Florida does not currently host any of the league’s teams. However, WNBA players have participated in the Unrivaled offseason league, which held its inaugural 2025 season outside Miami, where the league is headquartered.
While the WNBA has appeared to disregard targeting of players like Cunningham for her recent stance in support of protecting girls’ and women’s sports, as well as her teammate Caitlin Clark — seemingly guilty of being a star player while white — the matter of gender ideology was reportedly the focus of an upcoming meeting.
With two former NBA players having announced eligibility for the 2027 WNBA draft, OutKick founder Clay Travis posted on X, “After two former first round NBA draft picks declared for @wnba draft, the WNBA’s commissioner says the league will be meeting to review what a woman is for the purposes of league eligibility. These meetings need to be streamed live. That’s must see TV.”
Uthmeier reacted, “The WNBA continues to view the question of ‘what is a woman?’ as something that is ‘complex and nuanced’ instead of recognizing the simple truth. That’s the problem. What’s next, men assaulting women on the WNBA courts?”

As previously reported, Cunningham’s own coach, Stephanie White, was among those who stumbled over the question as to whether or not men should be allowed to play in the WNBA, contending, “I don’t know that I would say I’m educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don’t ever believe that exclusion is the answer. I just don’t.”
Following the ejection-worthy foul, White defended Carrington rather than her own player, expressing of the Sky athlete, “She’s going to compete, no one’s going to walk in for an easy layup. So, I don’t oppose the hard foul. But, I also don’t think she intentionally went for the neck.”
