Fmr. Mueller prosecutor even finds things ‘very strange’: ‘The WH keeps digging a hole deeper’

The Biden administration’s blatant lack of transparency regarding the ongoing classified documents scandal has even former special counsel Robert Mueller’s infamous pitbull, Andrew Weissmann, now crying foul.

“The WH keeps digging a hole deeper: they have failed to answer so many questions, which is very strange if this is all an innocent mistake,” Weissmann, who’s now an MSNBC contributor, tweeted Saturday.

“Total number of government docs found and precisely where; and what levels of classification? Why wasn’t this all revealed in Nov/Dec?” he added.

The blunt assessment provoked immediate backlash from the administration’s groupies.

Look:

Weissmann’s tweet came after a week of the White House deflecting and obfuscating in the face of a rash of unusually tough questions from the establishment press.

The tweet likewise came on the same day that the White House revealed that another batch of classified documents were found at the president’s Delaware home.

“President Joe Biden’s aides found five additional pages of classified material at his personal residence in Wilmington, Delaware, on the same day a special counsel was appointed to investigate the matter, the White House announced on Saturday,” CNN reported.

“That new disclosure marks the latest shift in the total number of documents with classified markings discovered by Biden’s lawyers in a week that has dramatically shifted the trajectory of an administration at the same moment it has raised significant questions about its handling of a legally precarious matter.”

Notice what CNN wrote about the documents being found “on the same day a special counsel was appointed to investigate the matter.”

That means the documents were found on Thursday. Yet it took two days for the White House to reveal as much publicly. Why?

What’s also notable is that Thursday was the same day that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that the classified documents scandal was effectively over.

Listen:

Apparently, she was completely wrong … again.

All this comes as the Democrat Party’s most high-profile figures continue to remain radio silence over the scandal.

“Leaders of the Democratic Party who were once swift to condemn former President Donald Trump for mishandling classified documents are notably silent in the face of a similar scandal involving President Biden,” Fox News noted Sunday.

Instead Democrats have been busy jabbering about anything and everything else.

Case in point:

To be fair, a handful of lower-level Democrats have spoken out, including Mark Warner.

“Warner, also Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, called for Biden officials to brief his committee on what documents were found in Biden’s possession. He made a similar inquiry of Trump’s team after documents were found at Mar-a-Lago,” according to Fox News.

Credit where it’s due.

Meanwhile, Rep. Hank Johnson has claimed there are “big differences” between the classified documents scandal facing Biden and the one facing Trump.

He’s also suggested that the classified documents found at the president’s locations were “planted” there …
