The party that opened the floodgates at the southern border, allowing an invasion of 10 million-plus illegal immigrants, is the same party now blocking the funding of the agency tasked with keeping Americans safe.
On Thursday, Senate Democrats “defeated a motion to proceed to a House-passed bill to reopen the Department of Homeland Security and end the 27-day shutdown that has hampered the functions of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other critical agencies,” The Hill reported.
The motion needed 60 votes to advance and failed by a vote of 51 to 46 — Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.) was the only Democrat to vote with Republicans.
“There have now been four jihadist attacks on the US homeland in the last two weeks & our Dept of Homeland Security remains shut down by Congressional Democrats, as a protest against enforcing federal immigration law,” Fox News political analyst Guy Benson posted on X.
There have now been four jihadist attacks on the US homeland in the last two weeks & our Dept of Homeland Security remains shut down by Congressional Democrats, as a protest against enforcing federal immigration law.
Just today, 46 of 47 Senate Dems voted to keep DHS closed.

As for the four instances Benson named, two occurred on Thursday. Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, 36, an ex-National Guard soldier convicted of trying to support ISIS, opened fire at Virginia’s Old Dominion University, killing a ROTC instructor and wounding two others before being killed by a heroic student. Also on Thursday, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Lebanon, Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, rammed a vehicle into the Temple Israel synagogue in Michigan — Ghazali was killed in the attack.
These attacks followed the arrest of two ISIS-inspired terror suspects for allegedly tossing makeshift bombs at a protest outside New York City Mayor Mamdani’s home, and the shooting in Austin, Texas, by a jihadist wearing a shirt emblazoned with the Iranian flag, resulting in the death of three people and a dozen others injured.
Yet, Democrats fear no repercussions for making America less safe by refusing to fully fund DHS.
As social media users note, but for the media this may not be the case — here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
We have terror attacks occurring in our homeland, and the Democrats continue to withhold funds from the Department of Homeland Security. Hamstringing the deportation of illegals is more important to them than protecting citizens, This scandal should be blasted 24/7 on every…

And the senate takes a 4 day weekend.
Our senate should stay in session continuously until DHS is funded and the Save America Act is passed.
If it means nuking the filibuster then so be it.
The democrats are going to nuke the filibuster the minute they have the majority…

And @LeaderJohnThune is allowing it by refusing to either nuke the filibuster or at a bare minimum enforce a talking filibuster. Too much work apparently.

Holding the American citizens safety hostage. You opened the floodgates at the border, you let in millions of undocumented immigrants. ICE agents are doing their jobs in upholding our laws, that were made by You, Democrats in Congress. Democrats own this chaos!

Well, they pretty much told us they hate us. Believe them. They couldn’t even vote to fund it while terrorists are jihading innocent Americans! If this doesn’t bring us out to vote in November, we’re freaking stupid!

@DNC is putting illegal aliens ahead of American citizens again. They are absolutely insane. Crazy. They are not a political party anymore….They are a mobile insane asylum.
