Fox New’s Bret Baier gushes over Walz, praises him as ‘one of those guys’

Fox News anchor Bret Baier appears to be enamored with Vice President Kamala Harris’ socialist ticket pick, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), praising him as “one of those guys.”

The long-time Fox News personality seemed to suggest that Walz was a regular guy because he hunts and fishes. Nothing could be further from the truth. Walz is seen as one of the most radical politicians in the nation’s history. His leftism is only surpassed by Harris herself.

Harris announced her VP pick on Tuesday morning and the media began slobbering all over the Marxist duo. It’s to be expected that leftists would fall in line after what amounted to a White House coup against President Biden, anointing Harris as the chosen one instead. But the gushing praise from Baier for Walz is a surprise.

He told Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer that Walz appealed to rural voters and that he was “not afraid to mix it up.”

“I mean, this guy hunts, he ice fishes. You know, he’s — is one of those guys. He talks about rural America and how Donald Trump doesn’t understand it,” Baier claimed.

“On the flip side, Donald Trump and — the former president and JD Vance are talking directly to those folks and trying to get those folks just like they built that coalition he did, Trump did in 2016,” he noted.

Baier then attempted to explain away the radicals in the Democratic Party.

“You know, listen, we just have to think about the party, the Democratic Party. The delegates themselves are really controlled by progressives. And, you know, if you think back to the power of Bernie Sanders after 2016 when Hillary Clinton goes on to get that nomination, you know, the power inside was very progressive. And it still may be because labor, you know, weighed in on the scales on this choice. Progressives in the party weighed in. And this is who, Vice President Harris —” he asserted.

“So hang on one second here, Bret. A lot of reaction coming in. I’m just going to read this for our viewers. Here’s Ron DeSantis out of Florida. ‘Harris-Walz, most left wing ticket in American history. Minnesota is ground zero for the BLM riots in 2020. Harris egged it on and Walz sat by and let Minneapolis burn,'” Hemmer said quoting the Florida governor while stopping Baier in mid-sentence. “So that’s his initial reaction.”

“Kellyanne Conway, who works for this here, she crunches numbers all over the country. She says, ‘Tim Walz, question mark. What a relief,’ that on X right now. Gillian?” Hemmer continued and then passed the baton to co-anchor Gillian Turner, who did not seem impressed with Walz.

“Walz did come to some sort of social media Internet notoriety over the last week or so. Bret, he’s given the credit for coining the term ‘weird’ to describe the Republican ticket that’s obviously taken off among the Harris crowd. You think this may be a case of the campaign choosing the shiniest object in the room?” she asked.

“I mean, they like how he talks. They like how he addresses media interviews,” Baier answered not addressing the entire lack of policy by both Harris and Walz.

“He’s been on our shows. He’s not afraid to get — like JD Vance. He’s not afraid to go to different places. He’s not afraid to mix it up. He does speak in plain speak. He’s a former football coach, you know, former teacher. He has that, that appeal, that aspect,” he concluded alluding to shallow, superficial facts about Walz and not what he promotes and stands for.
