A conservative influencer is being praised for trolling Fox News over its widely panned decision to fire Tucker Carlson.
Late Tuesday evening, Fox News traveled to Morgan State University in Baltimore to cover live the aftermath of a campus mass shooting.
“Five people were shot at Morgan State University in Baltimore Tuesday night and police have yet to locate a suspect, officials said as the investigation continues into the shooting that sent students running and sheltering in place,” CNN reported.
“Four of the victims are Morgan University students, according to Morgan State University Police Chief Lance Hatcher. The victims, four men and one woman aged 18 to 22, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said in a media briefing,” according to CNN.
While covering the event, Fox News’ Trace Gallagher went to a caller purporting to be a Morgan State University student named Tyrone. Except the supposed student was, in fact, a conservative commentator and influencer.
Watch what happened below:
The discussion began with Gallagher asking “Tyrone” what happened.
“Well, first we were watching — we all get together every Tuesday night, and we watch Tucker Carlson’s show on X. We used to watch him on Fox News. Obviously, he’s not there no more,” the caller said.
“And still being the most credible guy in the media in America, we always get together to watch Tucker Carlson. And I think he’s probably doing better now that he’s not with Fox News because the corporate media always controls what the teleprompter readers are able to say,” the caller added.
After figuring out the game being played by “Tyrone,” Gallagher quickly moved to have his call dropped.
Following the incident, “Tyrone” went uber viral on X.

This one will go down in internet history!

Great setup. Perfect delivery.

“Tyrone” eventually revealed himself to be conservative commentator and influencer Mike Dice.
“Yeah, that was me who culture jammed Fox News live on air. While shootings of any kind are terrible and it’s important to inform the public about a potential danger—cable news always exploits tragedies in order to keep viewers glued to their screens and fill the airtime with anything available to them,” he tweeted early Wednesday morning.
“In this case, some random caller whose name and identity they didn’t even bother to verify before putting on air as someone who supposedly knows what really happened,” he added.

That being said, there has been a little pushback to Dice’s stunt, with some critics arguing it was not appropriate to perform a prank during the live coverage of a mass shooting.
The last time Fox News was majorly trolled was in 2017 when a then-YouTube influencer appeared on “Watters’ World” as Kevin, the leader of Antifa, and Fox News host Jesse Watters proceeded to question him about Antifa’s violent behavior.
“‘Kevin’ went on to blame specific instances of violence against ‘right-wing inflitrators,’ but say generally that violence was the proper defense against ‘racists and xenophobes’ in what he called the ‘Drumpf’ administration,” Insider reported at the time.
“When asked by Watters if a police horse that had been stabbed earlier that week by a member of the antifa was a ‘racist Trump supporter,’ ‘Kevin’ replied ‘yes,’ adding that the horse was ‘a tool of the police,’ who he said had become ‘increasingly intolerant,'” according to Insider.
It turned out “Kevin” was actually BGKumbi, a then-18-year-old YouTube blogger known for pulling pranks.
“Some of BGKumbi’s most well-known stunts include[d] using a stuffed sailor doll named ‘Wilson’ to prank call someone, wearing a trash bag on his head, and posting a video in which he ‘declares war’ on the site 4chan,” as reported by Insider.
