Fox News liberal Jessica Tarlov lamented President Donald J. Trump’s 2020 election loss, suggesting that it only made him more powerful when he returned to office.
The shrieky co-host of “The Five” sat down with The New Yorker for a wide-ranging interview that was published on Tuesday, and during the chat with host David Remnick, she said that she wished that Joe Biden would have lost the controversial election, giving Trump a second consecutive term.

“I look back to the 2020 lines of argumentation about why we needed Donald Trump out and what Joe Biden could provide, and it was a safe pair of hands,” she said of the geriatric Democrat. “And I believe without COVID that Trump would have won re-election, and I wish that he had”
“I wish we were done now,” the Democrat punching bag said, adding that Trump only “got stronger” during the four years that he was out of office.
“He established a cadre of advisers that understood the challenge,” Tarlov continued. “Like [OMB director] Russ Vought wasn’t as powerful in round one.
“Stephen Miller’s certainly not as powerful,” the Fox News personality said, referring to the uncompromising White House deputy chief of staff.
“Project 2025, not a thing, right?” Tarlov asked. “And so I hate that we gave them four years to take a sledgehammer to the country, and we haven’t found a way to deliver our vision for the future in simple slogans.”
“Because we’re too decorous, too mild, too…,” Remnick said.
“I don’t know. I mean, I have a Ph.D, so, like, I get it. I get why it’s interesting to write a big policy paper or, you know, dig deep into what happened,” Tarlov responded. “But for me, it’s like, just give me the bumper stickers. Where’s your ‘no tax on tips’?”
“But we like good liberals have ingested all of these learnings and have yet to spit something out that can win an election on our ideas and our merits and not just not being the other guy,” she added, bemoaning the Democrats’ inability to settle on a message other than orange man bad.
The New Yorker interview dropped after “The Five” introduced a new addition to the table with Emily Compagno being added as a permanent co-host, and she was warmly welcomed by Tarlov in a post to X.

“I couldn’t be more honored to join The Five, a team I have long admired and have been fortunate to work alongside over the years,” the newest co-host said in a press release. “Having an official seat at the table on what I truly believe is the most fun show on television is an incredible privilege. I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”
“The Five” continues to be a ratings smash and has been dominant as the number one show in cable news.
Trump’s enemies and the ruthless Biden regime threw everything but the kitchen sink at him during the four-year intermission between terms, but as the saying goes: “Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
