France’s Macron congratulates Trump on victory with an interesting choice of words

French President Emmanuel Macron issued a message congratulating President-elect Donald Trump on his victory, but his choice of words has X buzzing.

Supporters of Trump have long maintained that his legal troubles are an example of lawfare being waged on him by the disgruntled left, resulting in felony convictions for the president-elect. Whether he intended to or not, Macron’s unfortunate choice of words appeared to many to be a double-entendre.

“Congratulations, President [Donald Trump]. Ready to work together as we did for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity,” he wrote.

While this may have been meant as a message of peace and unity, some took notice of Macron’s decision to use the word “convictions”:
