Freed Israeli hostage thanks Trump, says Hamas wanted Kamala to win

Israeli hostage Omer Shem Tov credited President Donald J. Trump for his eventual release from the hands of Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

In an interview with CNN, Shem Tov said the election of Trump was a game-changer.

“He got me out,” he said of Trump. “Before we felt like nothing is happening, and I remember ever since he came into the role, they were very scared of him.”

“They wanted Kamala [Harris] to be elected,” Shem Tov said of the Islamic terrorists. “As soon as Donald Trump was elected, they understood that he wants to bring the hostages back home. So immediately the way they treated me changed … when Trump became president, the way they treated us changed for me personally.”

The 22-year-old Israeli was released with five others on Feb. 22, after being taken captive during the Hamas massacre at the Nova music festival on Oct. 7, 2023.

Shem Tov, who lost more than 50 lbs while being held hostage, told CNN he was intentionally being starved, explaining that he saw a tunnel filled with food.

“One time I did ask one terrorist about it, and he told me because of the army, there is no food. But I used to see them eat. I knew they weren’t skinny as me, you know,” he said.

“I remember I asked to go to the restroom, to the bathroom, and they took me out. I used to go every three days to the bathroom,” he said. “And I remember me walking by another room in the tunnel and seeing a big amount of food, cheese and bread, huge amounts. So I was being starved. There is no question about it.”

In addition to getting more food, Shem Tov said his captors stopped cursing him and spitting on him after Trump defeated Harris.

The story may not get much traction in the American media, but it speaks volumes to how bad actors in the world view American politics.
