When times are tough, it’s good to have a sense of humor. But, bringing your innate gift for comedy and peppering it throughout the Washington D.C. swamp is even better!
Tennessee Representative Tim Burchett is no stranger to hilarious zingers and he let someone he called a “paid Democrat operative” have one on the Hill.
“Every day this paid Democrat operative tries to trip me up,” Burchett said in a post on X with an accompanying video.
“Representative, can you commit to opposing a nationwide abortion ban?” the operative asked surely hoping to catch a usable soundbite of Burchett over the hot-button issue.
But, Burchett didn’t bite. Instead, he came back with a passing dig.
“Can you put sunscreen on those legs? ” Burchett said. “Man, I gotta wear welding goggles out here they’re so white.”
How do you come back from a zinger like that? You don’t.

Needless to say, the video had folks on X chuckling and even had at least on person questioning if Burchett is the ‘funniest man in Congress’.
