Mesha Mainor, who was a Democrat representative in Georgia, has switched to the GOP after her party “crucified” and “abandoned” her over support for a recent school choice bill and now she is receiving deranged hate mail for it.

She posted a series of tweets to show how she is getting attacked for following her conscience and not the party line.
“The people elected you as a DEMOCRAT lady, not a Republican. You should be ashamed of your pitiful self and you should be let go because you are a lying lump of NOTHING. They didn’t elect a Republican you idiot. Yeah, be Marjorie Taylor Green’s side kick. What a class act!!! You’ll fit right into her pathetic mold you moron,” someone named Jeff Willman viciously tweeted to Mainor.
The former Democrat gently tweeted back, “I’m sorry you feel that way.”
That was not the only piece of hate mail she received either.

There you go, Kenneth. I’m sure you saw in an earlier text that someone was temporarily helping me and did misspell my name. God bless. pic.twitter.com/hVDfPjpHpK

When she made the official switch from Democrat to Republican, Mainor commented on it via Twitter: “My name is Rep. Meisha Mainor and today I made the decision to leave the Democrat Party. I represent a blue district in the city of Atlanta so this wasn’t a political decision for me. It was a MORAL one. I will NEVER apologize for being a black woman with a mind of my own.”

One user named Clare was blunt about the Democrat Party, “The Democrat party leaves people behind. The party is far removed from what it used to be.”

Radio host Alan Sanders tweeted, “See how so many have aligned with the ‘team’ without seeing what the team has become? Politicians are elected to represent the will of their constituents. If that will is being silenced because it’s not part of the ‘team’ playbook, doesn’t it make sense to change teams?”

Another person named Ray praised Mainor for the move and asserted that the hateful email proves it, “I would say these emails are just a confirmation you made the right choice.”

The reaction to the further harassment of Mainor was intense online:
Keep your head up and stay the course. Are any of these letters actually coming from your constituents?

I keep saying, when liberals have nothing to contribute they resort to name calling and personal attacks. This is just more validation that I am correct. Sadly.
