Gaetz demands disgraced FBI agent’s ‘girlfriend’ preserve key records over suppression of Hunter Biden probe

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) is demanding that the girlfriend of former FBI special agent Timothy Thibault preserve records after she sent out tweets suggesting she has inside information on whistleblowers who reported her beau for allegedly suppressing the Hunter Biden probe.

The congressman, who is a member of the subcommittee investigating government “weaponization,” sent letters to Twitter and the rumored girlfriend over her tweets concerning the nixing of the Hunter Biden laptop investigation, according to the Daily Mail. Gaetz also wants copies of her direct messages and asked for “any and all” communications between Melissa Morgan-Ransome and any FBI agent to be preserved, including texts and emails.

Gaetz contends that Morgan-Ransome’s Twitter account appears to indicate that she might “have first- or second-hand knowledge of internal Department of Justice matters” and that several of her tweets “can be construed as attempts to intimidate federal whistleblowers.”

Whistleblowers have accused Thibault of attempting to shut down the FBI investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop. He denies doing so.

Morgan-Ransome has a now-deleted Twitter account that went by the handle of @MissyMorganFit which aggressively defended Thibault. She also intimated that she had insider knowledge of the DOJ and the investigation with whistleblowers. She allegedly hinted that the whistleblowers could be outed which was ostensibly perceived as a threat.

Journalist Greg Price was the first to report on Morgan-Ransome and Thibault being a couple. Morgan-Ransome has since made her Instagram account private after Price noted pictures there of their close relationship.

Gaetz claims that Morgan-Ransome’s tweets “make clear” that she is very aware of the Weaponization of the Federal Government subcommittee’s work to investigate Thibault and others.

Ironically, Morgan-Ransome is a self-described Republican. She claims that GOP lawmakers are trying to smear Thibault but he will soon be vindicated.

Whistleblowers reported that Thibault closed an “avenue of derogatory Hunter Biden reporting” in October 2020. Judiciary ranking member Sen. Chuck Grassley made the claim in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland after he was informed of it by whistleblowers.

Morgan-Ransome tweeted on February 11, “The ‘anonymous’ whistleblowers are lying… You will find out soon enough.”

“Do you actually think I’m going to tell you everything I know?” she wrote on Twitter, according to the Daily Mail.

In three separate tweets during March, Morgan-Ransome tweeted that the whistleblowers “aren’t as anonymous as they believe.”

On March 1, she warned that they had “put their jobs and futures on the line.”

Whistleblowers also went to Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan’s office to allege that Thibault was behind a movement in the FBI’s Washington Field Office to classify each January 6th case as a unique “domestic violent extremism” case to “overstate” the number of threats that were taking place across the nation.

Morgan-Ransome went on to tweet on March 24, “Allegations do not make it true. Unfortunately you are going to have to wait a wee bit longer to be able to see & hear the facts made public. Stay tuned.”

Thibault was said to be one of 13 assistant special agents tasked with investigating the Hunter Biden laptop story. He was reportedly removed from a supervisory role by Wray earlier that month after agency whistleblowers showed there was a pattern of political bias from multiple high-ranking officials.

In August, Thibault abruptly resigned from the FBI. He claims he was not fired but was instead eligible for retirement after 20 years with the bureau.

Grassley alleged in letters that were sent to Wray and Garland that whistleblowers claimed Thibault displayed “a pattern of active public partisanship,” especially when it came to the Hunter Biden investigation.

The senator contended that Thibault had attempted to portray verifiable information about Hunter Biden as disinformation and ordered “a stream of information related to Hunter Biden” closed and marked it within the FBI system so it would not be reopened.

Jordan has requested a transcribed interview with Thibault and also threatened to subpoena the former agent.
