For better or worse, revolutionary technological change is here, and at least one real estate firm in Portugal is seeing the “better” side of what AI can do for business.

Israeli startup eSelf AI made it possible for users to get questions answered around the clock and access sought-after information more efficiently, Fox News Digital reported.

“We are not only a face that is moving and speaking while the agent responds to the user, but we also have sharing video and image capabilities,” co-founder and CEO of eSelf AI Alan Bekker told Fox Business Digital. “It’s like what movies did for books.”

While many might argue that the book is almost always better than the movie, the epic battle of good vs. evil in “Lord of the Rings” (for example) would’ve been lost to millions if the classic tale hadn’t made its way to the silver screen.

That’s how Bekker looks at it when explaining the technology’s accessibility and customers’ ability to create customized AI bots for a host of applications including real estate.

Enter real estate brokerage firm Porta da Frente Christie which has seen a whopping boost of $100m in sales based on leads generated from eSelf’s AI agent.

When first interacting with the AI agent, customers are asked for basic information including preferred location, budget, and property size. The agent can then quickly search thousands of listings and take customers on detailed virtual tours, Fox Digital reported.

Porta da Frente Christie’s CEO Joao Cilia said his company has been using the technology for about one year and is thrilled with the results.

“We have more than 5,000 properties currently in our portfolio. It is impossible for a physical person to know all of the information regarding these 5,000 properties, but it’s not impossible for an AI agent to do so,” Cília told Fox Digital. “So, you as a customer are going to get, probably and most likely, a much better service right away than you will have with a physical commercial consultant because she knows — the AI agent knows — everything about all the properties.”

Cilia touted the AI agent’s 24/7 availability which has generated otherwise lost sales from different time zones around the world and believes the technology will spread within the real estate industry and beyond.

“If we can use it a large scale in the long-term future or in the medium-term future, I would say, it can replace a lot of the physical commercial consultants, and in this sense make the operation of selling these properties much [cheaper],” Cilia explained.

Cilia believes the technology is a win-win for both his company which no longer needs to staff overnight shifts, but also for customers whose time is valuable and tastes are specific.

Whereas some obvious risks and dangers come with the advancement of AI technology, its use for good can be immeasurable in many ways and is being embraced by many like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who welcomed DOGE’s AI technology to root out wasteful spending in government.

“We need to do more: our state DOGE task force will use AI to amplify our efficiency efforts, spearhead audits at our state universities and tee up the elimination of more than 70 state boards and commissions,” DeSantis announced on Thursday.
