With the Republican Party taking control of the House and the oversight responsibilities that come with that, the incoming chairs of the Oversight Committee and Judiciary Committee announced on Thursday that they will be pursuing legitimate concerns about President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter Biden’s dubious business dealings.
“Was Joe Biden involved with Hunter Biden’s business deals and is he compromised?” U.S. Rep. Jim Comer, R-Ky., incoming chair of the House Oversight Committee, said at a press conference. “That’s our investigation.”
Leave it to Fox News host Geraldo Rivera to throw cold water on any attempts to get to the bottom of the millions of dollars Hunter Biden was able to rake in trading on the family name, including cash from Ukraine and Communist China, and whether the “big guy” was on the receiving end of any of that money.
Rivera tweeted: “Republicans get control of the House & the first they do is…No not explore how to tame inflation or crime etc. They launch an investigation of President & Hunter Biden. Boring. Divisive. Retro. Unwanted. Zero positive impact on the lives of Americans. Is this the real Red Wave?”

It bears repeating that Hunter Biden sat on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company, being paid more than $80,000 a month despite no experience in the field, while his father as vice president was tasked with being President Barack Obama’s point person there.
Yet, with growing concerns about corruption in America, Geraldo Rivera evidently has no interest in learning more. Never mind that the Biden administration has committed a total of $91 billion to Ukraine in its war against Russia and vows to stay engaged “as long as it takes.” Is the president compromised here as a result of his son’s shady business dealings? How about in China?
Hunter Biden is being investigated by the Delaware U.S. attorney over his business dealings but as we have learned with the FBI and the Durham investigation, politics can and will influence the outcome of any such probe.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter that didn’t fare all that well for Rivera:
Why wouldn't Geraldo want full transparency on this?https://t.co/jJ2JefXXPj

I know, I mean, who cares if the guy who is now President was helping his son to run an influence-peddling grift when he was VP? Or if they both have undisclosed financial ties to our main geopolitical enemy? https://t.co/both6mKVPG

Well, they’ve investigated Trump for 6 years. So buckle up buttercup. It’s going to get bumpy

I am an American citizen and I have the right to know if a President is working for me or working for himself with another country. I see nothing wrong with the investigation.

Did you watch the press conference? They clearly explained it’s only that committee that’s doing that. The party is big and is doing multiple things at the same time. And since when is holding people in power accountable for their corruption and potential treason a waste of time?
