Geraldo sends message to Greg Gutfeld after noting his appearances on ‘The Five’ ‘have been canceled’

It appears that Geraldo Rivera has once again gotten himself into some kind of trouble, though he does not share what it is he may have done in announcing on Thursday that his scheduled appearances this week on Fox News’s top-rated “The Five” have been “canceled.”

In fact, Rivera even suggested that there must be a “good reason” for the move — then again, the 79-year-old TV personality may be trying to prove that he’s a good company man.

“My appearances today and tomorrow on The Five have been canceled. I’m sure there’s a good reason. Never fear, I’ll be back week after next. Stay safe and happy. Thanks,” Rivera tweeted.

Interestingly, the last time Rivera appeared on “The Five” was Friday, April 21, according to Mediaite, this being the last day Tucker Carlson appeared on the network. Rivera has been in a rotation with Fox News contributor Jessica Tarlov and former Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr. to occupy the “liberal” seat on “The Five.”

Just as interesting is that Rivera drew a rebuke from cohost Greg Gutfeld when he said of Carlson’s exit: “I don’t wish ill on anybody, but there is no doubt – as I said at the time -Tucker Carlson’s perverse January 6 conspiracy theory was ‘bullshit.’ Having lost the election President Trump incited an insurrection that sought to undermine our Constitutional process.”

Gutfeld, who may now be the most popular host at Fox News, replied: “You’re a class act Geraldo. A real man of the people.”

Waiting more than a week, Rivera finally responded Thursday AFTER announcing that he was a scratch: “Thank you @GregGutfeld for your kind remarks.”

The cohosts have been known to go at it on the popular show, with Rivera having previously called Gutfeld an “insulting punk” and even threatened to kick him “in the ass,” but it may be a stretch to suggest Gutfeld has anything to do with Rivera getting scratched on the remaining two days of the week.

Social media users are certainly on board with that possibility, though:
