Geraldo takes his man crush on ‘Godzilla’ Chris Christie to an entirely new level

Geraldo Rivera has made no secret of his admiration for Chris Christie, repeatedly gushing over the former New Jersey governor who is preparing to jump into the 2024 GOP presidential field where he will throw his weight around against former President Donald J. Trump whom he has vowed to go on the attack against.

The failed presidential candidate has been talking lots of smack about mixing it up with Trump, chatter that has clearly impressed the veteran journalist who has repeatedly gushed about Christie’s chances against the ex-POTUS, the 800-pound gorilla of the Republican Party, and in a tweet that took Geraldo’s slobbering over the swaggering White House wannabe to an entirely new level, he conjured up a formidable vision of a certain science-fiction movie monster.

“Chris Christie is a bad ass. Remember he was Godzilla in Jersey before he got trashed in the Big Bridge Debacle. He’s going to have an impact on the early race and beyond,” he wrote in a Wednesday post to the social media platform.

Rivera was burned to a cinder by Twitter users who toasted him as if he was the recipient of a generous blast of the fictitious dinosaur’s atomic breath.

Geraldo previously touted New Jersey’s “Godzilla” as a “rock solid alternative to Trump.”

In another tweet mooning for Christie, Rivera praised his “swagger, moderation, toughness” as the “strongest” Republican alternative to Trump.

Christie’s advisers have formed a super PAC in advance of his imminent announcement and the GOP underdog has continued his attacks on the current frontrunner.

“Everybody can be fooled once by a shuckster, by a TV star,” he said during an appearance at a New Hampshire town hall. “But if we allow ourselves to be fooled twice, we have no one to blame but ourselves. And let me promise you, if he is the nominee in 2024, Joe Biden will be the president in 2025.”

In a recent interview with Politico, Christie boasted that he called up an unnamed former GOP presidential candidate for advice on whether he should jump into the race to face off against Trump for a second time which he believes he could pull off by “taking direct aim at Trump’s weaknesses — his questionable character, his lack of discipline and, most of all, his losing record.”

“No one else has the balls to do it,” the unnamed ex-candidate allegedly replied to Christie whose tenure as New Jersey’s governor was marked by his brash confrontational manner and swagger.
