As socialists gained ground in the Democratic Party, a former adviser to a senator tossed big tent politics out the window with her call for the longtime strategist to “Get out!”

Despite kitschy co-exist sentiments and inclusion messaging, warnings about fundamentalist ideologies like Islamism and socialism have long contended an ultimate objective of dominant control. Monday, after political strategist James Carville voiced his own opposition to sharing a party with a radical, Tezlyn Figaro, a former advisor to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I), called on the Ragin’ Cajun to step aside for those “actually organizing and winning.”
Appearing alongside Karl Rove during a segment on Fox News’ “The Story with Martha MacCallum” discussing primary victories for candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), Figaro was asked if she agreed with Carville’s suggestion that most of the party are on his side.
“No! How does he know?” she posited. “Jim Carville — hey, guess what, Jim? Get out! You know, we can just start calling him ‘Get Out Jim.'”
“If the Democratic Party wants to reform how they’re moving, if DSA — or I would just say progressives as a whole, because I don’t like to just put this on DSA, because again, I have my criticisms with them as well — but there is a progressive wing of the party that is actually organizing, that is actually winning elections,” Figaro continued. “James Carville, if I understand, he hasn’t won an election — he won an election, finally, in his 40s, you know, no disrespect. But, you know, he doesn’t run how the party moves.”
As previously reported, Carville issued an ultimatum over the weekend while speaking with Jacqui Heinrich on Fox News’ “The Sunday Briefing,” threatening to bail on the Democratic Party if it embraces Hamas-sympathizing, socialist-pushing podcaster Hasan Piker.
“I am not going to be in the same party with Hasan Piker,” the strategist said of the Mao Zedong cosplayer. “If he becomes a force in the Democratic Party, I’m out of here. I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy.”

“I can’t sit here and tell you for certain how this is going to turn out, but the one thing I can tell you for certain, Hasan Piker and James Carville are not going to be in the same political party,” he added. “One of us is going to leave. It might even be me.”
That appeared to be an increasing likelihood in the current landscape as MacCallum raised a recent CNN/SSRS poll that found of independents aligned with the left, little more than a third took issue with nominating a socialist candidate while the remaining majority were either okay or even enthusiastic about it.
Raising the victory of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), which led to more DSA-backed primary successes in Gotham and beyond, Figaro argued, “You can’t get upset that progressives are actually organizing and winning. And you certainly as hell can’t get upset at the New York mayor for actually being a winner.”
She also expressed how she “thinks Democrats are smart enough to know” where the socialist message will resonate and where they don’t have the traction.
