Conservative radio show host Glenn Beck had little good news to share after a visit late this week to Western North Carolina.
Speaking on BlazeTV this Friday, he went into detail about the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA’s) disastrous response to Hurricane Helene. He noted, for instance, that he’d only seen one FEMA truck since his arrival in N.C., and that it was “tucked away” and hard to spot.
He also mentioned speaking with a semi-truck driver who was “pulled over by FEMA” and then had the food and supplies on his truck confiscated.

According to Beck, FEMA has also allegedly been trying to shut down an area where private planes and helicopters have been landing with supplies.
“We have FEMA trying to shut down this helo field because the FAA isn’t involved,” he said. “Screw the FAA! If you had planes down here and you had helicopters yourself and you were rescuing them, then fine, we’d shut this down, but you’re not here!”
Regarding the devastation he’s witnessed, Beck said it’s “shocking.”
“I’ve seen tractor-trailers upside down on the sides of the road where they had just been pushed by the water,” he noted. “I’ve seen houses upside down that were just turned over by the water.”
“The number-one thing I’ve heard from the people who are organizing things on the ground — and they’re all just locals that were Special Forces — they said we just need people; we just need more hands to help,” he added.
But, Beck noted, many locals no longer want help from the federal government. They want help from independent volunteers.
“They were pretty much turned around by the locals,” he said of one town, going on to note that residents were angry that FEMA had arrived so late.
“[They] said, ‘To hell with you. You just got here; we don’t need you; turn around, leave,’ and they did,” he recalled. “It is God’s army [that’s stepping up to get the job done].”
Below is some video footage Beck recorded while on the scene:

#10 – @glennbeck exposes how useless FEMA is in Asheville, NC.
First, he discovered that the FEMA crew was stationed OFF the main road, making them hard to find.
Next, FEMA admitted, “We got here yesterday,” a full week late.

In the video, Beck asked a FEMA representative how exactly locals in need were supposed to find them given that they were stationed off the main road and very difficult to locate.
The rep said locals should use FEMA’s app to register for help. The problem, of course, is that few in the area even have access to the Internet at this point.
The rep also argued it was the “news media’s job” to help locals find them. But again, few in the area have access to TV at this point. The rep even suggested locals listen to their car radio for updates, but once again, many families lost their cars in the flooding.
At one point, the rep told Beck that they — FEMA — planned to go “door to door” soon to find and help those in need.
“When will that start?” Beck then asked.
“That’s way above my head,” the rep replied. “Do you want to talk to my crew lead?”
Guess what happened next. The rep retrieved the crew leader, who in turn admitted, “We don’t necessarily go door to door.”
*facepalm*
Beck’s trip to N.C. comes as a number of whistleblowers have begun emerging to put FEMA on blast.
For example, in the video below, a volunteer revealed that FEMA has allegedly been using hotels to house its workers versus victims of Hurricane Helene:
FEMA is causing chaos. This man speaks truth. Everyone wants photos/videos for “evidence”
Trust me pls, I have shared many but the personal tragedy of individual people will not be put on social media by me. Have some respect for these people pls. pic.twitter.com/1iXnXmSnXr— Kelly DNP Functional/Integrative Medicine (@kacdnp91) October 3, 2024
Some whistleblowers have also accused FEMA of denying them aid and help.
