Tuesday at the Wilmington, Massachusetts Select Board meeting, frequent political candidate and known flamethrower Kevin MacDonald’s nearly 10 minutes worth of public comment kicked off with conflict and ended with fireworks as a member made a request that the cops be called for their protection.
Before Select Board member Lilia Maselli stormed out and the meeting was quickly adjourned, MacDonald presented cause for concern over her day job with semiconductor company Analog Devices, Inc. Having already made his case that COVID vaccine injuries would create a financial detriment to the self-insured town because of first responder mandates, the man argued that alleged regular gas leaks presented a risk to firefighters and marked a conflict of interest for her.
“I do not represent the job that pays my families food, housing, everything,” Maselli leveled as MacDonald gathered up his things and made ready to leave. At that point, she added “It’s a good thing no one in town likes you or listens to anything you say.”
Following a retort of “Go eat some ice cream,” the board member erupted, “Why don’t you go f*ck yourself!?”
It was then that she promptly began to collect her own things, aggressively stacking papers, and began to storm out, “Could we get the police here so this guy doesn’t attack any of us? If he’s gonna be here, I am not. I am done with this sh*t and him.”
Within a moment, as shell-shocked members of the board appeared to come out of a stupor, and one completed a call on his cellphone, a door could be heard slamming off camera as Maselli stormed out.
According to a 2019 report from the Wilmington Apple, MacDonald had previously been arrested and charged with multiple counts of assault with a dangerous weapon after he himself had called the police seeking a no-trespass order for construction workers.
When presented with emails purported to be from the town’s director of planning and conversation, officers were said to have informed MacDonald that they could not halt construction based on an email to which he demanded officers “do your jobs.”
Soon thereafter, MacDonald climbed into an excavator that he owned and, as detailed by the Apple, “began moving its hydraulic arm very quickly and aggressively…MacDonald moved the arm in the direction of the officer and dropped a bucket in front of him, which necessitated the officer to take a few steps to avoid being struck. The bucket came within inches of the officer’s chest and feet.”
“If Mr. MacDonald had applied more pressure with his excavator, the [construction worker] could have fallen over the steep cliff on the other side,” the officer wrote in his report after the “very uncooperative” man was arrested.
Earlier during his comments, MacDonald had raised concern over the “potential looming financial impact on the town” and attempted to get the board members to comment on the Stew Peters documentary “Died Suddenly” on Rumble, before he was reminded that public comments were meant to relate to issues discussed at the meeting and it was not a question and answer session.
