Disney is reportedly on track for its worst stock performance in nearly 50 years, and critics say it’s no surprise given how “woke” the company has become.
The stock price was, as of Friday morning, at $87.67/share, precipitously down from a high of $197.16 recorded on March 12th, 2021.
But it’s not just the stock price that’s on the decline. So are sales, it would appear. Indeed, underperforming sales of the latest film, “Avatar: The Way Of Water,” are partially to blame for the extra-low current stock price.
“It’s the performance of the Avatar sequel which has caused Disney stock to tumble in recent days. While the box office figures haven’t been a total flop, they’ve fallen short of expectations given the huge budget for the film. The disappointing result has caused Disney stock to fall 7.93% over the past five days,” Forbes reported Wednesday.

Disney is also losing money on streaming.
“In Q4 this year their streaming business lost an eye-watering $1.5 billion. Not only is that crazy high, but it’s way more than the $630 million that it lost the same time the year before. The losses are also expected to continue for some time yet,” according to Forbes.
But why all these declines in stock prices and earnings? Critics say it’s because Disney has chosen to go completely “woke.”
Case in point: The classic story of “Snow White” has been completely reworked to be “woke,” according to Alison Boshoff of the Daily Mail. For instance, it no longer features either a prince or dwarves. No joke.
“A source closely connected with the film — shot earlier this year — tells me Snow White’s seven ‘dwarfs’ are going to be fully computer generated, and won’t be dwarfs at all,” Boshoff reported Thursday.
What’ll they be then? Trolls?
“A source connected with the production explains that they will be rather like the trolls in Frozen, or JRR Tolkien’s hobbits. They will have two legs, two arms and a face with eyes, nose and a mouth . . . but not be actually human,” according to Boshoff.
But why trolls? Because dwarves were too offensive for some “wokesters” like dwarf actor Peter Dinklage:

Flash back to the start of the year, when, while appearing on a podcast, Dinklage complained about “Snow White” not being “woke” enough.
“Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White — but you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’ Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me,” he said.
“You’re progressive in one way, but then you’re still making that f–king backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together? What the f–k are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough.”
The remarks came a few months after Disney announced plans to produce a live-action remake of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Following Dinklage’s remarks, Disney decided to rework the film.
“To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community,” a Disney spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.
Then there’s actress Rachel Zegler, who plays “Snow White.” She too is “woker” than “woke.”
Lucy Gray Baird, her character in the forthcoming Hunger Games prequel ‘Songbirds and Snakes,’ is a singer who uses her voice as protest.
“She plants the seed, in my opinion, for what Katniss becomes,” says Zegler.

“People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White . . . yeah, it is — because it needed that. It’s an 85-year-old cartoon and our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who has a function beyond ‘Someday My Prince Will Come,'” she said in an interview with Variety magazine two months ago.
While she may find this attitude enlightening, most find it repulsive.
Her movie is gonna suck. Just like all the others before her and all the others after.

Snow White changed all of the dwarves lives forever for the better and helped a Hunter gain a heart. The original Snow White was wonderful. Quiet down.

So your going to change up the whole story and keep it in name only. Wow Disney you are that creatively bankrupt, make new stories instead of this garbage

If Zegler watched that 85 yro masterpiece and only managed to conclude that the take away is “my prince will come one day”, she has a limited mind and therefore whatever she offers is limited as well.
