Signs of revival were at the heart of an Easter message from the president as he unabashedly proclaimed “the most glorious miracle in all of time” being embraced by a church “growing again.”
“… in the end, evil and wickedness will not prevail.”
The assassination attempt on President Donald Trump’s life at a July 13, 2024, rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, is often viewed as a turning point in the chief executive’s openness about his faith. On Good Friday, as Christians across the world solemnly marked the Passion of the Lord and His sacrifice, Trump utilized his platform as the leader of the free world to celebrate Jesus Christ’s victory over death through the resurrection.
Speaking from the Oval Office, the president began, “This Holy Week, I’m proud to join with Christians across the country and around the world to celebrate the most glorious miracle in all of time, the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
“In His life, Christ displayed true humility, in His death, He modeled true love, and in His resurrection from the tomb, He proved that even death itself will not silence those who place their trust in Almighty God,” he continued before quoting the Gospel of John, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Having previously released messages marking other prominent Holy Days and memorials for Christians, and Catholics in particular — including Pentecost, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, All Saints’ Day, the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel, and most recently the anniversary of the death of Pope Saint John Paul II — the president added, “This Easter, millions of Christians around the globe will be reminded that because of what Jesus did on the cross, all of us can live every day with hope in God’s promise, knowing that in the end, evil and wickedness will not prevail.”
From there, the brief message went on to address the resurgence of faith throughout the country. As had been reported by The New York Times, the Catholic Church in particular has seen a marked upswing in conversions to the faith, a topic widely discussed on podcasts in part as a sign of an increased rejection of secular culture.
“Each diocese has its own process for tracking conversion data, making a reliable, real-time accounting difficult. The Times gathered data from two dozen dioceses, including some of the country’s largest, like Los Angeles and Phoenix, as well as rural and smaller ones like Gallup, N.M., and Allentown, Pa.,” reported The Times. “Each reported a significant jump.”
Addressing this, Trump stated, “In the spirit of joy and renewal this Easter, we also celebrate the extraordinary resurrection of faith and religion in America. As I have often said, to be a great nation, you must have religion and you must have God. In churches across the nation on Sunday, the pews will be fuller, younger, and more faithful than they have at any time in many, many years. Religion is growing again in our country for the first time in decades.”
Released two days after preaching the Gospel at an Easter Lunch hosted at the White House, his official statement made clear how Christianity is woven into the very fabric of the nation, remarking, “As we rejoice this Easter season, we are reminded that the life of Jesus Christ and the truth of the Gospel have inspired our way of life and our national identity for 250 years. From the Christian patriots who won and secured our liberty on the battlefield and every generation since, the love of Christ has unfailingly guided our Nation through calm waters and dark storms.”
“On Easter Sunday, the stone was rolled away and the grave was empty… It was a miracle in all of history — the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” says @POTUS.

Trump concluded, “Happy Easter to all. May God bless you. May God bless the United States. Our country is doing so well like never before. Thank you.”
