An unidentified good Samaritan in Oklahoma allegedly saw Robert Wayne Grayson beating a woman in a car, giving 911 dispatchers a running description of what was going on in the vehicle and assisting police in arresting the suspect.
“Thank you to the Good Samaritan who assisted us in apprehending Robert Wayne Grayson,” the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office tweeted concerning the incident, praising the witness.
The good Samaritan reportedly called 911 on Saturday while witnessing a car driving erratically on Highway 75 near a suburb of Tulsa called Owasso.
“As he got closer to this vehicle to see what was going on, he could see the male driver physically attacking the female passenger. It was brutal, it was violent. She was being hit, she was being punched,” Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Casey Roebuck told News On 6 in an interview concerning the vicious incident.

The good Samaritan remained on the line with 911, giving details on what was transpiring in the vehicle and relaying its location.
“He was relaying the location and what was occurring throughout the 911 call all the way from out in the county, where he called us, into the city of Tulsa, where the suspect was headed,” Roebuck asserted, according to Fox 23.
Roebuck said that the witness claimed that “at several points during this journey, the woman is just hanging out the window trying to get people’s help, trying to escape the car.”
The woman evidently tried to jump out of the car at a red light in Tulsa according to News On 6. When the suspect stepped on the gas, she was thrown from the car according to the good Samaritan. She was taken to a nearby hospital. It’s unknown what her injuries are or what condition she’s in, according to local news reports.
After the victim was thrown from the car, the witness continued to follow the suspect back to his apartment but did not confront him.
“I find it nothing short of remarkable and he is to be commended. He also did so safely. He didn’t confront the suspect in this case. He observed and he reported. He did this perfectly,” Roebuck noted, according to Fox News.
“Let this be a warning to potential abusers, you’re doing this in a public place, people are watching. This is Oklahoma, there are good people everywhere and when good people see what’s happening and get involved, they will help put you away. So it doesn’t matter how scared your victim is, if other people witness this and they get involved, it is over for you,” the officer warned.

“You’re under arrest for domestic assault and battery,” a deputy told Grayson as the arrest was recorded on bodycam footage.
Grayson told the police that he was the real victim during the altercation. He is seen on bodycam footage outrageously claiming, “I was being punched… she’s kicking my f***ing steering wheel.”
The suspect was then told that “somebody followed you for miles,” and witnessed the assault on the woman.
When Grayson was arrested, police reportedly found a meth pipe in his pocket, according to News On 6. He claimed it belonged to the victim. Grayson was charged with kidnapping, assault, and battery with a dangerous weapon, as well as threatening a violent act and possession of drug paraphernalia.
