GOP lawmaker unveils ‘Thump Thump’ bill to empower drivers against leftist road blockers

A Republican lawmaker has introduced a bill that will make leftist protesters think twice before blocking roads in demonstrations.

Rep. Randy Fine is hoping to nationalize a law that will allow drivers to essentially drive through barricades and protesters who employ the “terrorist practice of blocking roads as a form of political speech.”

The Reinstating Orderly Access for Drivers (ROAD) Act is also referred to by the freshman congressman as the “Thump Thump” Act, because of the sound of a vehicle going over a speed bump, aka a protester.

“When a pregnant woman can’t get to the hospital to have a baby, when an ambulance can’t get through traffic to get to the hospital, that’s a form of terrorism,” Fine told Breitbart News, referring to protesters blocking streets and highways. “It disrupts our lives. And it’s not a reasonable form of protest. ”

Fine, who represents Florida’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is nicknamed the “Hebrew Hammer,” introduced H.R.4846 this month, reportedly to take Florida’s 2021 anti-rioting law (HB 1) nationally.

“In a criminal or civil action for damages for personal injury, wrongful death, or property damage carried out using a motor vehicle, it is an affirmative defense that such action arose from an injury or damage sustained by a participant acting in furtherance of a riot. The affirmative defense authorized by this section shall be established by evidence that the participant has been convicted of violating section 2101, or by proof of the commission of such crime by a preponderance of the evidence,” the proposal reads, in part.

“I was proud to be part of the team that made it happen, where we said if you block the road, you can get run over. And guess what? The protesters don’t block the roads in Florida as a result,” Fine said, referring to his time as a Florida state senator.

“And so I think we need to make America Florida, and the ‘Thump Thump’ Act will say that if you block the roads, well, you may end up sounding like ‘thump thump,’” added the lawmaker who won a special election in April to fill the congressional seat vacated by Mike Waltz.

“If they block the roads, it isn’t going to turn out well for them,” he said of demonstrators in Florida. “They don’t block the roads because they know what will happen.”

H. R. 4846 was referred to the House Judiciary Committee, which is chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).

“Our party is the party of law and order, and it is anarchy to block roads,” he told Breitbart News. “The left prioritizes everything bad – criminals, robbers, protesters, terrorists, illegals,” Fine told Breitbart News.

The congressman approved of President Donald Trump’s latest efforts to protect Americans and address the crime in Washington, D.C.

“I’m grateful that President Trump wants to make our city a beacon to the world,” he said. “People should be safe when they come to our nation’s capital, and they shouldn’t have to be worried about being assaulted by some thug. And I appreciate what President Trump is doing.”

“I know Democrats want to make crime great again, but that’s not what the rest of us want,” he added.

Fine dismissed concerns about the safety of protesters who choose to block roads and put themselves – and others – in danger.

“I don’t care about that because they’ve chosen to do that,” he said. “They’re not confused about what they’re doing. If you stand in the middle of a highway, you shouldn’t be surprised when you get run over.”
