Given how often U.S. Rep. Maria Salazar regurgitates left-wing talking points while talking about illegal immigration, you’d never guess that she is a Republican.
Salazar represents Florida’s 27th congressional district, which is seen as a competitive swing district where party control can flip from one election cycle to the next, and she posted a video after Democrats succeeded in Tuesday’s elections in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia.
Citing the 2024 election, where Hispanics voted for President Donald Trump in large numbers, Salazar now frets that the demographic will abandon the GOP because Trump is doing exactly what he campaigned on — enforcing U.S. immigration laws.
“If the GOP does not deliver, we will lose the Hispanic vote all over the country,” Salazar warned, after claiming, “Latinos are leaving the Republican Party.”.
And what does she want delivered? Amnesty for illegal immigrants, which she sees as “embracing” the community.
“Hispanics want to give dignity to those who may not have legality, but who’ve been here contributing to the economy and the country,” Salazar claimed.
A year ago, Latinos made GOP history.
But if we don’t deliver, we’ll lose that historic support.Yesterday’s results speak for themselves.
To my fellow Republicans: let’s act now and embrace the community that shares our values, before our chance is gone for good. pic.twitter.com/qFD8pIogAh

Ironically, the election of Marxist-inspired radical leftist Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York City is the direct result of “embracing” widespread immigration.
Regardless, the sight of 10 million-plus illegal immigrants invading America at will under the Biden regime is cited as one of the reasons Trump was reelected, and he did not shy away from talking about the need for mass deportations. That’s one of the key reasons he was elected, and Hispanic Americans were largely on board with the initiative.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
You’re literally trying to give amnesty to the masses that elected Zohran Mamdani, traitorous idiot.
Your years of emotional appeals don’t outweigh the overwhelming reality that migration is a leftwing political weapon.
Florida Cubans voting red doesn’t outweigh that.

“Deport illegals” doesn’t mean amnesty. It means deport all illegals.

None of the Latinos who voted for President Trump (or any Republican) are here illegally.
Immigrants often dislike illegal immigrants because they jumped the line and didn’t pay the same costs.
The illegals need to go back. Every one of them.

I have not met a single person in Miami who likes you. You were simply the least bad option on the ballot.
Read the room. We are not doing mass amnesty.

Latinos voted for a candidate who promised to deliver mass deportations… which Maria Salazar interprets as mass amnesty.
She really needs to be primaried https://t.co/aJYrMec7lh
