Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of State Attorney Andrew Warren for refusing to enforce the law, and conservatives are positively elated.
Warren, who is backed by billionaire progressive George Soros, was reportedly refusing to enforce laws “sex changes for minors or restrictions on abortion.” This was unacceptable to DeSantis who took action on Thursday.
“When you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty,” he said during a press conference on the suspension decision.

As of this publishing, Warren has not released a statement regarding his suspension or defending his decision to not enforce the law. DeSantis had teased the announcement as one that would spark a “liberal meltdown.” While that is surely forthcoming, the immediate reaction to the announcement was largely positive, as conservatives pointed to the decision as the only way to deal with progressive prosecutors who don’t follow the law:
It’s about time someone stood up to these democrat attorney generals. They flout their oaths to pander to politics and forget their sworn duty to protect the public and uphold the law.

State prosecutors who refuse to enforce the law are in violation of their oath of office, legal ethics, and the state (or Fed’l) constitution.
Such a suspension, and hopefully dismissal, should be automatic and uncontroversial.
