There’s an old saying that you can spot a phony a mile away — and someone should have shared that adage with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.
With New Yorkers beset with rising prices and soaring crime,, the Democratic governor decided to post a photo on Twitter on Sunday assuring residents that life is grand and why not have a barbecue — assuming you can afford to buy hamburgers and steaks.
The problem here being the poor optics.
Not only does Hochul appear stiff in the photo as she stands before a loaded BBQ grill, holding up a hamburger patty like she’s afraid of it, but she’s also wearing a spotless WHITE dress.
She tweeted, “Great day for a barbecue, New York!”

It’s not clear why she felt compelled to share the photo, though it’s understandable that she would want New Yorkers to believe that all is indeed well.

Comically, Hochul also came up short in the eyes of her vegan constituency:
