House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) suggested that the party will have the backs of left-wing Democrats who have drawn criticism for their parroting of Hamas talking points and spewing of anti-Israel rhetoric.
The top House Democrat reacted to the possibility that outside groups could back primary challenges to lawmakers who have demanded that President Joe Biden engineer a ceasefire in the Jewish democracy’s military offensive against the terrorists who slaughtered over 1,300 of its citizens – including women, children, the elderly and babies – and could seek do what leadership won’t by cleaning out the antisemites who have been welcomed with open arms into the party’s big tent.
“Outside groups are going to do what outside groups are going to do,” Jeffries told reporters on Friday, according to Fox News. “I think House Democrats are going to continue to support each other.”
One of those groups would be the influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) which has the money and clout to get behind more moderate candidates who aren’t openly siding – if not cheering on – those who are devoted to the destruction of America’s important Middle East ally, one of them being Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) who accused the organization of endangering her safety.
“AIPAC literally ran ads with my face next to Hamas rockets, resulting in a string of threats against my life,” the Somali-born Jew hater said this week. “When Democratic Leadership called them out, they refused to apologize and kept the ads up. What they are doing is insulting and Islamophobic.”
“Rep. Omar has been elected by her constituents three times and has consistently stood up for them, including through her service on the House Budget Committee,” the Minority Leader said in a statement.
“As House Democratic Leader, I vigorously endorse her re-election and stand with her as we battle extreme MAGA Republicans for the future of our nation,” Jeffries added.
“Squad” leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also attacked the bipartisan pro-Israel lobbying group, smearing AIPAC as being “racist and bigoted” and an “extremist organization that destabilizes US democracy” in one of her typically idiotic posts to X, formerly known as Twitter.
AIPAC endorsed scores of Jan 6th insurrectionists. They are no friend to American democracy.
They are one of the more racist and bigoted PACs in Congress as well, who disproportionately target members of color.

Another target for a potential primary challenge would be Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) whose post to X falsely accusing Israel of bombing a Gaza hospital remains up despite her claim being debunked as Hamas propaganda.
The Michigan Democrat also incited a mob to invade the U.S. Capitol complex and has spent the weeks since terrorists butchered Israel civilians spewing antisemitism, and on Friday, posted a video to X in which she promoted the slogan “From the river to the sea” which is chanted by Hamas supporters and is widely interpreted as being a call for the genocide of Israeli Jews.

Jeffries does deserve credit for disagreeing with the assertion from another “Squad” member, BLM activist Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) that Israel is engaging in the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza.
“Israel is not conducting an ethnic cleansing campaign. Israel is not engaged in genocide. Israel was brutally attacked in the most horrific way on October 7th. It has resulted in the largest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust. And Israel is in a position where it is responding and going after Hamas. That is a necessary and urgent project for it to complete,” he told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer this week.
