Harris campaign adviser points finger of blame for missed opportunity with Joe Rogan

Democrats are still reeling from Vice President Kamala Harris’s loss and looking for someone to blame.

While Harris’s campaign fell short on multiple fronts, the decision not to sit down with Joe Rogan may have been one of the bigger missteps. Democratic strategist Jennifer Palmieri revealed that the campaign received backlash from “progressive staff” who were reportedly against the idea of Harris filming an episode of the podcast.

“There was a backlash with some of our progressive staff that didn’t want her to be on it, and how there would be a backlash,” she admitted, according to the Financial Times.

On Tuesday’s episode, Rogan revealed that during talks with the Harris campaign, several conditions were established including that the host was not allowed to discuss legalizing marijuana, likely due to her record as a prosecutor. As BizPac Review reported, the discussions between Harris’s staff and Rogan’s staff were “chaotic.”

“I don’t know if she’s good at running things because you’d have to be behind the scenes to see how that works, but when it comes to talking off the top of her head, what she’s good at is a pre-rehearsed speech that she reads off a teleprompter. Pretty solid,” Rogan explained.

“They had I don’t know how many conversations with my folks, but multiple conversations giving different dates, different times, different this, different that, and we knew that she was going to be in Texas, so I said, ‘open invitation,’” he added.

“They had requirements on things she didn’t want to talk about. She didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization, which I thought was hilarious.”

Meanwhile, Trump took advantage of the audience Rogan has gained over the years just ahead of Election Day, generating buzz and excitement as he approached the finish line. His three-hour episode with the podcaster covered a wide array of topics and allowed young people who may not have been all that interested in the presidential election to hear the perspective of one of the people running. The video has attained 50 million views, meanwhile, Harris’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast episode netted under 1 million, even after the campaign spent six figures to build a set.
