Even tapping into TDS may prove ineffective as the vice president’s campaign announced an outreach “dream” seemingly less realistic than even they imagined.
Dramatic examples of the failures of Marxist ideologies had yet to stop leftists from believing they’d reimagined the wheel. Similar delusions appeared to accompany an announcement from the Harris for President campaign as they revealed their battleground effort to get Never Trump Republicans to support the Democratic Party’s candidate.
According to a report from NBC News, on Sunday the campaign unveiled its intent to get high-profile RINOs to sell those who’d supported former ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley during the Republican primary to cast their ballots for Vice President Kamala Harris.
“The campaign is tapping state political directors to lead outreach to Republicans in their regions, the source told NBC News. However, the source said that the campaign is having a difficult time locking in support from certain state leadership teams to head GOP outreach.”
Specifically, the source said, “That’s the dream of theirs, but I don’t actually think that’s going to happen on the level they want.”
Among those tapped by the fledgling “grassroots” (read astroturf) campaign, now-citizen Adam Kinzinger, the former Illinois congressman who’d bailed on his own primary contest after getting redistricted, issued a full-throated endorsement of Harris solidifying his status as shill having transitioned from impeachment supporter to J6 kangaroo court member, CNN commentator and beyond.
Only days after trying to school the internet on masculinity, Kinzinger posted his endorsement that included a list of other Never Trumpers as he argued, “There is nothing ‘conservative’ about Donald Trump. Conservatives believe in the Constitution, not a ‘man’s’ ego. Endorsing American democracy and the future today, and leaving the past in the dust. I’m endorsing @KamalaHarris.”

As it happened, the campaign had hired the Ukraine First former lawmaker’s onetime chief of staff Austin Weatherford as the national director of Republican outreach who said in his own statement, “Donald Trump’s MAGA extremism is toxic to the millions of Republicans who no longer believe the party of Donald Trump represents their values and will vote against him again in November.”
“Donald Trump said he doesn’t want these voters, but Vice President Harris and our campaign are working overtime to earn the support of my fellow Republicans who care about defending democracy and restoring decency,” he added.
While Harris’ campaign continued to demonize the previously disavowed and non-existent connection between Trump and Project 2025, NBC News explained, “The campaign on Sunday announced a new push to appeal to GOP voters, which includes the creation of state advisory committees across battleground states that the campaign said will ‘play a pivotal role in facilitating Republican-to-Republican voter contact,’ such as door knocking, phone banking and hosting events featuring Republicans.”
“As part of Sunday’s announcement, the Harris campaign said that it will unveil a digital campaign where Republican Harris supporters make ‘their case online to fellow Republicans,'” it added while the outlet indicated, “the source said that it was difficult to find people who were willing to endorse the Democratic ticket in 2020, and they suspect it will be harder now.”
Along with Kinzinger and former First Lady Melania Trump’s once chief of staff Stephanie Grisham, names bandied about as potential allies in the so-called “Republican outreach” included former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney and former Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, though neither had signaled a public endorsement.
A number of the supporters were expected to appear at upcoming events with Harris as her schedule included trips to seven states, including Pennsylvania where she was expected to announce her running mate Tuesday.
“I feel really at peace with doing everything we can to beat him with Harris,” the unnamed source told NBC News. “I think defeating Trump is the best way to get to a healthy Republican Party.”
