An 8-year-old boy who suffers from a rare brain disorder and growth hormone deficiency received the surprise of a lifetime this week thanks to former President Donald Trump.
According to conservative podcaster Kevin Smith, the boy, Liam, received a birthday message from the former president.
Watch below to see Liam’s reaction as he opened his gift:
Meet Liam.

As seen above, the message of hope from Trump inspired tears from Liam.
“Dear Liam, Happy 8th birthday,” the message read. “Mrs. Trump and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends. We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your young life, and send our love and best wishes to you as you continue to fight.”
“Remember you are never alone, and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued care and good health. May God bless you and your family. Stay strong. Sincerely,” the message continued.
When Liam’s mother asked him who signed the letter, he said “Donald Trump.”
“He knew it was your birthday coming up?” his mom then pressed.
Liam nodded yes as he burst into tears again.
“What do you say to him?” his mother then asked.
“Thank you!” Liam tearfully replied as he motioned “I love you” in sign language.
According to Smith, Trump never asked credit for sending Liam a birthday message. He just did it quietly, never expecting Liam’s mother would then share the message with the world.
“This was sent to me by Liam’s family,” he explained in a tweet. “Donald Trump didn’t ask for Credit for this. He just did it. Because he’s a good person. No matter what the media tries to say.”

According to even Snopes, this is just one of many acts of kindness that Trump has quietly performed over the years.
“Trump gave $10,000 to a bus driver who saved a suicidal woman, gave $25,000 to a U.S. marine sergeant arrested and detained in Mexico, and allowed an orthodox Jewish family to use his private jet in order to seek urgent medical treatment for their young son,” Snopes reported last year.
The latter event happened in July of 1988 when the Ten family needed to take their 3-year-old son Andrew to New York to receive treatment for a rare respiratory condition.
“Because Andrew required the constant aid of a respirator and life support machine but commercial airlines could not accommodate that equipment, the family could not travel to New York on a conventional flight,” Snopes notes.
But all turned out well when the boy’s father, Harold, somehow contacted Trump (it’s not clear how) and asked to use his private jet.
When later asked why he thought Trump had allowed his family to use his jet, Ten speculated that it’s because Trump’s a good guy.
“Because he is a good man,” Harold said. “He has three children of his own and he knows what being a parent is all about.”
Just a small example of a golden heart.

Trump’s penchant for righteousness was also apparent during his former presidency. Recall that he never collected a salary. Meanwhile, he let his net worth slip by $700 million.
As previously reported, factors that contributed to the losses included an aging portfolio, the COVID pandemic, and the harm done to Trump’s brand due to the Jan. 6th riot. Attacks from the left against Trump also took their toll on his business empire.
“The fallout from the Capitol assault has hurt his relationships with brokers and lenders,” Bloomberg reported in 2021. “At least $590 million in loans come due in the next four years, more than half personally guaranteed by Trump, and his scrapyard of failed enterprises has only gotten more crowded.”
