Herschel Walker responds to abortion accusation as his son joins the pile on: ‘I LOVE my son no matter what’

Former President Donald Trump wasn’t alone in his charges of defamation by corporate media Monday as pro-life Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker wants to take The Daily Beast to court for its “disgusting, gutter politics,” following allegations he funded the abortion of his then-girlfriend.

On Monday, political reporter Roger Sollenberger published the anonymous claim of a woman said to have been dating Walker in 2009 and used a “get well” card, a bank deposit receipt, and an abortion clinic receipt as proof the former professional football player had paid for the procedure after having impregnating her.

“The woman said Walker, who was not married at the time, told her it would be more convenient to terminate the pregnancy, saying it was ‘not the right time’ for him to have a child,” The Beast published. “It was a feeling she shared, but what she didn’t know was that Walker had an out-of-wedlock child with another woman earlier that same year.”

“This is a flat-out-lie – and I deny this in the strongest possible terms,” Walker hit back with a statement of his own.

“This is another repugnant hatchet job from a democrat activist disguised as a reporter who has obsessively attacked my family and tried to tear me down since this race started,” the candidate argued. “He’s harassed friends of mine, asking if I fathered their children. He’s called my children ‘secret’ because I didn’t want to use them as campaign props in a political campaign. Now, they’re using an anonymous source to further slander me. They will do anything to hold onto power. It’s disgusting, gutter politics. I’m not taking this anymore. [I’m] planning to sue The Daily Beast for this defamatory lie. It will be filed tomorrow morning.”

Despite Walker’s challenge, The Beast’s politics editor Matt Fuller held firm to the claims in the report, “I can tell you we stand behind every word and feel very solid about the story.”

The claims against the candidate who supports banning abortion without exception included her $575 receipt from the clinic, a bank deposit receipt with an image of a personal check from Walker for $700 and a “get well” card signed by Walker with the handwritten message, “Pray you are feeling better.”

Of further concern to the candidate, who has been running a close race against incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), were remarks tweeted out by his son, social media influencer Christian Walker.

After Sollenberger’s story was published, the younger Walker took to Twitter fuming against his father for not speaking to these matters at the onset of his campaign. “I know my mom and I would really appreciate if my father Herschel Walker stopped lying and making a mockery of us. You’re not a ‘family man’ when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence.”

“I don’t care about someone who has a bad past and takes accountability. But how DARE YOU LIE and act as though you’re some ‘moral, Christian, upright man.’ You’ve live a life of DESTROYING other peoples lives. How dare you.”

As previously reported, Walker has not disguised the fact that there was a time in his life when he struggled with Dissociative Personality Disorder and that before recovering from his mental illness he had as many as a dozen alternative identities. He has since taken full responsibility for his actions during that time and admitted to having had violent thoughts about harming others and himself.

Adding to the confusion, Christian Walker seemed to be a staunch supporter of his father until rather recently:

On top of challenging the claims made in The Beast, Walker also reacted to the outcry from his son and posted on social media, “I LOVE my son no matter what.”
