Corporate media may swoon over President Joe Biden’s touted love for his son Hunter Biden, but California Rep. Darrell Issa (R) had his own take on the “sick drug user” still appearing at the White House and “still very connected to the big guy.”

Reports of an anticipated plea deal with the Justice Department regarding tax fraud charges and a federal gun felony have done little to tamp down the fervor of congressional investigations into the Biden family’s alleged criminal bribery schemes.
In fact, even without House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer’s (R-KY) updates that now suggested more than $40 million may have been accepted by the Biden’s from foreign nationals that could have impacted “six specific policy decisions,” the first family has managed to muck up their own optics.
Joining “Fox News Live” with Griff Jenkins, Issa spoke to that as he questioned the observable extent of Hunter’s access to the halls of power. “Whether Hunter Biden is ever jailed or not, he’s a sick drug user with lots of problems, including obviously a propensity for criminal behavior in the millions of dollars.”
The California lawmaker went on to add, “With his son pleading to, even if they’re misdemeanors, fairly significant criminal things that he did in tax evasion, why in the world would you go out of your way to have him at the White House showing that he’s still very connected to the big guy?”
Of course, claims of transparency from the administration have been wholly debunked as reports have shown official visitor logs don’t matchup with public records, including where it pertains to the first son who was not recorded having been at the White House between Jan. 2021 and Feb. 2023 despite well-documented proof of appearances at events including holidays and at least one State Dinner.
Just this Friday, as the media played at investigating the source of cocaine found in the White House, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre outright denied that the Biden’s had been home the same day it was discovered.
“As you know — and the media outlets reported this — the Biden family was not here. They were not here. They were at Camp David,” Jean-Pierre claimed contradicting pool reports.

Notably, the press secretary wouldn’t need to go to such lengths to cover for the Biden’s if the president merely established distance between him and his son, leading Issa to continue his rhetorical questioning, “But we really do have to ask, why does he continue to put him on Air Force Two and then Air Force One? Why does he do things that create the appearance that he has real connections with his father and real ability to affect his father?”
The lawmaker had posited his own answer to these questions as he tweeted out ahead of one of two consecutive weekends where Hunter accompanied the president to Camp David, “Joe Biden has officially lawyered up. This is what a real scandal looks like.”

That tweet followed the news of an alleged WhatsApp message that implicated Biden in being present as Hunter appeared to use his father’s position in government to secure financial gains.
