Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) has married his fiancée, and some are saying it’s an indicator of more than just love.
Less than three months after announcing their engagement on Instagram, Booker and Alexis Lewis have tied the knot. The ceremony was a private affair, with only close family being present to witness the interfaith union, which was blessed by both a pastor and a rabbi.

The whirlwind romance began as a blind date set up by a mutual friend of the two, who is known to be something of a matchmaker. Lewis was living in Los Angeles in 2024 and was only in Washington D.C. to visit family, but by the end of the 5-hour date, the senator had sweet-talked her into moving her return flight back so that he could take her out again. The second date was even better than the first, and the pair moved in together in April 2025.
“Alexis is one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life. She has transformed me, helping me to ground and center my inner life, and discover the joys of building a nurturing home with someone you love,” he gushed in the Facebook post announcing the pair’s engagement. “I’m thrilled to share: Alexis and I are engaged! I am savoring the soul-affirming wonder of everyday life with my partner, best friend, and now my fiancée.”
“We are excited for this journey ahead, having so much fun, and feeling deeply grateful for the love, support, and energy so many of you have shared with us. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a beautiful community lifting us in love and commitment.”
But while congratulations are rolling in, some are convinced that this signals a big political decision is coming down the pipeline for Booker:
