Hillary touts 30-year DC crime low, then turns off replies as the responses roll in

Democrats and their media Muppets were reading from the same script in their response to President Donald J. Trump’s deployment of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., to crack down on crime, including Hillary Clinton.

Instead of acknowledging the failure of Mayor Muriel Bowser and Democrat leadership and praising the bold move to take charge of the intolerable crime situation, the Democrats decried Trump’s federalizing of the DC Police and use of National Guard troops to restore order, citing dubious stats to incredibly suggest that the city is actually safe.

The failed Democrat presidential candidate never passes up an opportunity to attack the man who kept her out of the White House, taking to X on Monday to cite a press release from the Biden Justice Department stating crime was at a “30 year low” in the nation’s capital, and then turning off her replies to hide from critics.

“As you listen to an unhinged Trump try to justify deploying the National Guard in DC, here’s reality: Violent crime in DC is at a 30-year low,” the former Secretary of State wrote, repeating the talking point that is being used to defend the status quo and incredibly argue that no action was necessary despite daily violence that some have likened to third world countries.

The legitimacy of the “30-year low” claim from then-United States Attorney Matthew M. Graves in his January 3 press statement is based on numbers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) that may not be what they seem to be.

In July, NBC Washington reported that an MPD commander was put on leave for “allegedly making changes to crime statistics in his district.”

“Union officials said there is a larger trend of manipulating crime statistics,” according to the outlet.

The cowardly Clinton may have shut off replies, but couldn’t completely stifle critics.

Also, flogging the “30-year low” talking point was elected Democrat leadership, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who never lets reality get in his way when it comes to Trump, a man whom he is salivating over impeaching if Democrats retake the House in next year’s midterm elections.

“Violent crime in Washington, D.C. is at a thirty-year low. Donald Trump has no basis to take over the local police department. And zero credibility on the issue of law and order. Get lost,” he wrote on X, taking the party line that rampant crime is OK and that the president is the bad guy for trying to stop it.

“Democrats are lining up to oppose crime being lower in DC. It’s bonkers,” Outkick founder Clay Travis said in an X post sharing Jeffries’ remarks.

“We’re here for a very serious purpose. Very serious, very,” Trump said at a Monday news conference from the White House. “Something’s out of control. But we’re going to put it in control very quickly, like we did in the southern border. I’m announcing a historic action to rescue our nation’s capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam, and squalor, and worse. This is Liberation Day in D.C., and we’re going to take our capital back.”
