President Donald Trump is doubling down on his criticism of the late Rob Reiner, and leftists are seething.
After the shockingly vile reaction to Charlie Kirk’s public assassination, one might think that leftists voluntarily abandoned the moral high ground argument. But following the disturbing killing of Reiner, it’s clear they want to have their cake and eat it too.
While the majority of Republicans and conservatives have reacted to the moment with kindness, grace, and sympathy, Trump was not shy about sharing his dislike for Reiner. On Monday, he was asked about the Truth Social post that had gotten a lot of attention, at which point he doubled down on the sentiments he had shared.
Watch:
Q: Republicans have denounced your statement on Rob Reiner. Do you stand by it?
Trump: “I wasn’t a fan of his. He was a deranged person.”
The man was murdered in his own home and this is the president’s response.

“Well, I wasn’t a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person, as far as Trump is concerned. He said — he knew it was false. In fact, it’s the exact opposite — that I was a friend of Russia, controlled by Russia. You know, it was the Russia hoax. He was one of the people behind it. I think he hurt himself, career-wise. He became like a deranged person. Trump Derangement Syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all, in any way, shape, or form. I thought he was very bad for our country,” the president said.
As BizPac Review previously reported, Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday night to express his thoughts on Reiner after news broke that the producer had been found dead in his own home alongside his wife, Michele.
“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with the mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” the post reads. “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
Now, Hollywood voices are hammering the president for his reaction.
Patrick Schwarzenegger shared Trump’s post on X, calling it a “disgusting and vile statement.”

British television host Piers Morgan urged Trump to delete his post, saying it was “a dreadful thing to say about a man who just got murdered by his troubled son.”

Whoopi Goldberg, ‘The View‘ co-host and notorious Trump critic, praised Reiner’s work in the industry and took a moment to blast the president.
“I was lucky enough to get directed by him in Ghosts of Mississippi. He was also an outspoken activist and quite a guy, quite an amazing man. I don’t understand the man in that White House, because he talked so much about Charlie Kirk and caring, and suddenly, this is what he puts out. Have you no shame? No shame at all? Can you get any lower? I don’t think so,” Goldberg said.
