Hospital apologizes for serving free Chick-fil-A lunch, thanks employees who snitched

Staff at a Minnesota hospital showed their thanks for free Chick-fil-A sandwiches by complaining about not being inclusive.

Essentia Health in Duluth offered a groveling apology to “offended” staff after doling out free lunches in the St. Mary’s Medical Center’s atrium last week. Staff, who evidently aren’t bothered by the hospital performing sex change operations on minors, raised the alarm about straying from its “values of respect and justice” by condoning Chick-fil-A.

Chick-fil-A’s values statement reads in part: “Chick-fil-A’s Corporate Purpose is ‘To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A.'”

Tammy Kritzer, senior vice president for regional operations at Essentia Health, addressed their concerns in an apologetic email obtained by The Daily Wire.

“We have received feedback from some colleagues who were concerned or offended by this occurrence, and we value colleagues feeling comfortable expressing their reservations,” Kritzer wrote.

“We would like to thank our colleagues who had the courage to speak up to widen our lens of inclusivity, and we appreciate all colleagues continuing to live our values of respect and justice,” she added.

The email contended that the free lunch was “not intended to endorse a business or business practices.”

“We respect all we are honored to serve and employ, and situations such as these are an important reminder to consider all viewpoints. As we strive to be thoughtful and inclusive as an organization, we will have learnings along the way,” Kritzer wrote.

“In the words of Maya Angelou, when we know better, we do better,” the email concluded. “Thank you for giving us grace, as we work to be better, together,” the pandering email concluded.

Social media users ripped the hospital and the whining staff over the news.
