A House Democrat spoke up about the opposition to one of the potential picks for presumptive nominee Kamala Harris’s running mate.
With the current vice president expected to announce her choice soon, Harris is facing a revolt from progressives over potentially giving the nod to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro who happens to be Jewish.
In a recent letter by 50 progressive leadership figures, Harris is urged to bypass Shapiro who despite being the popular governor of a battleground state, has “shortcomings as a national candidate,” they claimed with the unspoken part being that he doesn’t meet with the approval of the Jew-haters who now call the Democratic Party their home.
On Thursday, Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) – who is also Jewish – cut directly to the chase in a post to X, calling out the anti-Shapiro progs.
These Progressives don’t want a Jew. Let’s say it out loud. Imagine if moderate Dems said they didn’t want a certain minority. The condemnations would be deafening. Yet now we hear much silence. https://t.co/rjQ0Yv5tej

“These Progressives don’t want a Jew. Let’s say it out loud. Imagine if moderate Dems said they didn’t want a certain minority. The condemnations would be deafening. Yet now we hear much silence,” the Jewish congressman wrote, sharing an article from The Hill about the letter protesting Shapiro.
“With the compressed timeline ahead of us to defeat the Trump-Vance-MAGA threat, we simply cannot afford any setbacks,” the letter read, recommending Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear as Harris’s running mate.
While Moskowitz stopped short of labeling the progressives as anti-Semites, his fellow Democrat House member didn’t hold back.
“Every potential nominee for Vice President is pro-Israel. Yet only one, Josh Shapiro, has been singled out by a far-left smear campaign calling him ‘Genocide Josh.’ The reason he is treated differently from the rest? Antisemitism,” Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) said in a recent post to X. “The antisemitic far left must never be given veto power over the selection of a presidential running mate.”

In recent years since the ascension of “The Squad” to the forefront, the Democrat base has become nearly as chock full of anti-Semites as the American Nazi party.
While Shapiro has reportedly been at the top of the list of potential veeps, Harris is going to need to win Michigan, a state with a heavily Muslim electorate that revolted against the recently deposed Joe Biden aka Genocide Joe over his failure to bully Israel into a ceasefire in Gaza.
Even though Harris is considerably more anti-Israel than Biden and last week insulted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the presence of a Jew on the Democrat ticket could be problematic in the critical state that could determine which party is in the White House for the next four years.
Harris is expected to make her choice by next week.
