Another day, another Democrat threatening to shut down law enforcement.
This time, the Democrat lawmaker is Rep. Shri Thanedar, who immigrated to the U.S. from India before becoming a U.S. citizen and representing Michigan’s 13th congressional district. The congressman, who has already tried to impeach President Donald Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth, has now unveiled his latest move to impeach DHS Secretary Kristi Noem as well as dismantle Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which he accused of murdering people.
“Just a few weeks ago, I introduced a bill in the US Congress eliminating qualified immunity for ICE agents. When ICE agents murder American citizens in our cities, they must face consequences,” the Democrat declared at a news conference on Wednesday, flanked by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), Rep. Tim Kennedy (D-N.Y.), and Rep. Al Green (D-Texas).
“They must be brought to justice, and they cannot hide behind…this immunity,” Thanedar continued. “So my bill would ask that the qualified immunity be removed for these murderers in our cities all across America.”

“We must reform ICE. But it looks at this stage, folks, ICE is beyond reform,” the lawmaker continued. “ICE is totally out of control, and this week I intend to introduce a bill to abolish ICE.”
“We do not need the murders, we do not need this paramilitary organization’s members on our streets, terrorizing U.S. citizens, terrorizing moms, terrorizing our children,” he said.
The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.
I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.
Time to melt ICE.

“The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, a 37-year-old mother fatally shot by an ICE agent, shows that ICE cannot be reformed and must be abolished. The Abolish ICE Act is a step toward justice, accountability, and a more humane approach to immigration policy,” Thanedar said in a statement last week.
Thanedar’s latest theatrics sparked mockery and some confusion on social media.
Make it make sense. 🤦🏼♂️🤡

ICE exists to enforce the law—abolishing it would surrender our borders to chaos. The Abolish ICE Act is pure political theater, not serious policy. Thanedar’s bill ignores the 1.2M criminal arrests ICE made last year, including 170K+ with assault convictions and 3K+ linked to…
