House Dems overwhelmingly vote to reject resolution condemning socialism

With only a handful of exceptions, House Democrats have yoked themselves to the socialist revolution that is consuming their party and has come to define it.

In a public showing of exactly where the party stands on the poisonous ideology, an overwhelming majority voted against a GOP-backed resolution to condemn socialism “in all its forms” that passed 220 to 192 with two Dem lawmakers voting present, setting up an onslaught of advertising with just over two months until the midterms.

“Socialism has failed everywhere it’s been tried without exception. It’s a dangerous ideology that creates misery for the very people it claims to help,” Rep. August Pfluger (R-Texas) told Fox News Digital after the vote.

“Today’s vote puts the Left on the record and removes any doubt about where my colleagues on the other side of the aisle stand,” added Pfluger, the Republican Study Committee Chairman.

The resolution also reaffirmed support for the SAVE America Act, a vital piece of election integrity legislation that has been championed by President Donald J. Trump.

“The resolution is pretty easy, right? It condemns socialism in all its forms, including the DSA, recommits ourselves to the Constitution of the United States…a third point is that we don’t want non-citizens voting in elections,” said Rep. Jeff Crank (R-Colo.), who sponsored the resolution.

“They can certainly be critical, but it’s just a quick choice for the American people to see where people stand on this stuff,” Crank told Fox News Digital.

Only a handful of Democrats went on record against socialism with their votes that likely wouldn’t have been necessary if two renegades hadn’t broken ranks in a brazen show of disrespect for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and joined Republicans on a “rule vote” that opened up debate on GOP priorities, yet another humiliation for the embattled New Yorker.

Reps. Jared Golden (D-Maine) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.) delivered a stunning blow to Jeffries and their entire caucus when they broke ranks to allow GOP Speaker Mike Johnson to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat after conservative holdouts threatened to once again freeze the House floor.

“The decision by two of our colleagues to blindside the entire House Democratic Caucus and join with the Republican majority to pass a procedural rule on the brink of failing represents a significant breach of trust,” Jeffries raged after the humiliation.

Golden and Gluesenkamp Perez were also among the eight Democrats who bucked Jeffries on the socialism resolution.

Republicans were quick to go on the attack, including the White House’s Rapid Response 47 account on X.

“192 House Democrats just voted AGAINST denouncing socialism in all its forms. An ideology responsible for more than 100 million deaths,” the post read. “These people are sick, dangerous, and an affront to the liberty on which our great country was founded.”

“Freedom-loving Americans can escape New York City, but if DSA continues to run candidates and beat Democrats in federal primaries, Americans will be the ones fleeing from their own country to escape socialist and communist ideologies,” Crank said on Tuesday.
