In response to Jan. 6th footage being released, Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee has called for an investigation into the Jan. 6th committee.
As previously reported, on Friday newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson began releasing tapes from the Jan. 6th riot, prompting celebration from conservatives and outrage from leftists.
Lee is a rare Republican who also responded with outrage, albeit not at Johnson but at the congressmen and congresswomen who’d run the Jan. 6th committee.
“We need to investigate the J6 committee. Taxpayer dollars funded the sham J6 committee,” he wrote in several tweets Friday.
We need to investigate the J6 committee.

In additional tweets, he slammed the Jan. 6th committee members who’d tried to hide the tapes from the public’s eyes.
Why didn’t Liz Cheney and Adam Kizinger ever refer to any of these tapes?
Maybe they never looked for them.
Maybe they never even questioned their own narrative.
Maybe they were just too busy selectively leaking the text messages of Republicans they wanted to defeat. https://t.co/Nqt1RuMWTd

Remember: the people who helped hide the J6 tapes are cut out of the same cloth as those who will tell you that FISA 702 must be reauthorized without reforms—“because search warrants require too much effort.”

Given the evidence they apparently suppressed, how much footage (and how many other records) do you think Nancy Pelosi and the J6 committee deliberately lost or destroyed?

He also took a direct shot at disgraced former Rep. Liz Cheney after she responded to the release of the tapes by sharing a cherry-picked video of Jan. 6th rioters acting violently.
“Liz, we’ve seen footage like that a million times. You made sure we saw that—and nothing else. It’s the other stuff—what you deliberately hid from us—that we find so upsetting. Nice try. P.S. How many of these guys are feds? (As if you’d ever tell us),” he wrote.

All this said, technically an investigation into the Jan. 6th committee has already begun.
“A Republican-controlled House committee launched an inquiry Wednesday into the Democratic-controlled Jan. 6 committee, which a staff member said will review whether pertinent information about the riot was omitted from the high-profile examination of the attack on the U.S. Capitol,” NBC News reported in March.
“The House Administration’s subcommittee on oversight will be combing through the massive amount of records collected by the Jan. 6 committee, which was dissolved in January, said the staffer, with the goal of analyzing how the panel conducted the investigation,” according to NBC News.
The only thing that’s changed is that the public now has access to the Jan. 6th tapes, many of which show the “rioters” peacefully strolling through the U.S. Capitol, not violently perpetrating a so-called “insurrection.”
Case in point:
Horrifying footage released from Mike Johnson, of the violent January 6th insurrection that was worse than 9/11 and Pearl Harbor combined: pic.twitter.com/efGtmggMLI

Apparently, the “insurrection” was so bad it included a pat on the back and a handshake from a Capital Police Officer while he gave directions. pic.twitter.com/bB6cKEd5YI

If January 6th was an insurrection, why were people allowed to leave like the Capitol was a movie theater?
Clearly confirms what we’ve said since January 6th:
The J6 tapes would have exonerated every person charged, and this is why these tapes weren’t released pic.twitter.com/v8JzIMuWJG— Eric Abbenante (@EricAbbenante) November 17, 2023
What’s strange is the apoplectic rage running through leftists now that the tapes have been released.
“The level of uniform gaslighting, rewriting of history, and blanketing of social media we’re enduring currently from republicans and trump is unprecedented in the modern world. Mao would be impressed. They are manufacturing a fake reality built of pure propaganda and conspiracies,” left-wing writer Luke Zaleski tweeted.
Evidently, releasing unedited video footage of an event is a form of “gaslighting” and “manufacturing a fake reality.” Who knew?
Leftists also raged in response to Lee’s tweet calling for another investigation into the Jan. 6th committee.

Your involvement in January 6th is what needs to be investigated. Why was Rudy Giuliani trying so hard to reach you that day?
