Howard Stern’s depraved, anti-Trump SiriusXM show reportedly ‘too be cancelled’

Another leftist mainstay appears to have run its course as shock jock Howard Stern’s future at SiriusXM remains in doubt since “It’s no longer worth the investment.”

Beyond selling sex, Stern raked in hundreds of millions of dollars on his long-running radio program, pushing ideologies and professing an outright hatred for supporters of President Donald Trump. Now, amid an ongoing corporate media reckoning that has seen personalities getting pink slips over faltering ratings, renewal of the SiriusXM host’s expiring contract is reportedly unlikely.

Speaking with The Sun, an anonymous insider said ahead of the five-year deal’s termination later this year, “Stern’s contract is up in the fall and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don’t intend for him to take it.”

“Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It’s no longer worth the investment,” the source added. “But as far as him coming back to doing the show, there’s no way they can keep paying his salary.”

Expecting a deal to be made to continue airing Stern’s catalogue instead of new episodes, the source brought up the expiration of CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and the network’s intent to axe the program altogether and said, “After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it’s like they just can’t afford to keep him going.”

Word of the anticipated fate of the program prompted many on the right to bring up past remarks from the shock jock, including a statement made prior to the 2024 presidential election where he’d said, “I don’t agree with Trump politically, I don’t think he should be anywhere near the White House. I don’t hate the guy.”

I hate the people who voted for him,” added Stern. “I think they’re stupid. I do. I’ll be honest with you, I have no respect for you.”

That was one comment highlighted by filmmaker Robby Starbuck, who posted, “A new case of go woke, go broke: Howard Stern’s going to be cancelled at SiriusXM when his contract ends. In recent years Stern said he hates Trump voters, that he thinks we’re stupid and that he would deny unvaccinated people hospital care if it was up to him. FAFO.”

Supporting that notion, another source told The Sun, “If Sirius isn’t going to give Stern a good offer, I don’t think it would have anything to do with his ratings. It’s more likely everything to do with the political climate.”

Aiming to provide insight on Stern’s perspective, a source told the Daily Mail, “He is off in the summer but this year has been saying ‘maybe I should retire,'” while expressing concern about his staff of “around 95” writers and producers who only recently became aware of their tenuous future.

“He may do a 1-2 year contract if they can meet him where he wants financially. He doesn’t want to pull the plug on his employees like this,” added the insider.

Less than two years after proudly embracing his “woke” identity following his self-imposed isolation beyond the draconian measures handed down by local governments over COVID, and as efforts from the right to undo the damage of leftist policies continues, reactions to the potential end of Stern’s program were met with cheers and questions of which talking heads might be next.
