The moving memorial service for slain conservative icon Charlie Kirk gave leftists another opportunity to spread lies.
The Huffington Post came under fire for publishing a hate-filled take on the event held in State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday. The leftist outlet called the memorial a ‘RAGEFEST’ that featured a ‘HATE EULOGY’ by President Donald Trump.
Incredible. The widow forgave her husband’s killer, ffs. pic.twitter.com/2Vp2AJK77H

The outlet noted how the president called Kirk’s alleged assassin a “radicalized, cold-blooded monster,” a sentiment many shocked by Kirk’s murder would agree with, and that he turned his speech into a “political rally.”
Trump spoke at the end of the hours-long memorial that was filled with emotional tributes and moving moments, like when Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, declared that she forgives her husband’s assassin “because it is what Christ did, and is what Charlie would do.”

But HuffPost called the event a “Venomous Wake” and published multiple negative stories on the service.
Social media users were disgusted by the attention-seeking left.
“ragefest”
Ok.
— JWF (@JammieWF) September 22, 2025
It’s a louder and louder cry for attention by a fading media.

It should be illegal for a newspaper or reporter to lie this blatantly. It’s time we hold these people responsible.
— David Eisenbart (@DEisenbart44839) September 22, 2025
Who was ‘hated’ at Charlie Kirk’s memorial?
I say only love, compassion and forgiveness.
— WW (@the_urb) September 22, 2025
The left are bitter soulless people who are wrong about everything.
— Elizabeth Burns (@eburns24_burns) September 22, 2025
Many X users called out the double standard.
Funny, I don’t remember them calling the George Floyd riots a “ragefest.”
— Citizen Caller (@CitizenCallerUS) September 22, 2025
And those riots were a rage fest. Can you imagine doing all that damage over a career criminal?
— Joyful57 (@mantucker2020) September 22, 2025
A memorial is a “ragefest,” but riots are “mostly peaceful.”
— Topo Gigio (@TopoGigio1925) September 22, 2025
The left is lost. All those hours of worship in music. All the love and praise of Charlie. Erika forgiving the killer.
But this is how they dealt with Charlie: take some small thing THEY don’t like, that THEY find objectionable, then USE IT to demonize the whole, up to murder.
— DailyDisinformation (@DDisinfo) September 22, 2025
They are the hate the claim to see on the very people that peacefully assembled to give a heartfelt goodbye to a man they assassinated for his words. Let that sink in.
— Florida Living (JustOh) (@myacatt51) September 22, 2025
And in a stinging rebuke, many others on X admitted they didn’t think the leftist rag was still around.
The HuffPo is still a thing?
— Raging Cajun in #Jesusland (@SAINTFAN1918) September 22, 2025
I wasn’t even aware @HuffPost still existed.
