Hunter Biden ripped into Jake Tapper after the CNN host criticized former First Lady Jill Biden for her “downright false” assessment of her husband’s health while he was president.
The former first son accused Tapper of being “focused on attacking my Mom” in a social media post, going on to blast President Donald Trump’s family.
“So let me get this straight. Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom,” he wrote Wednesday.

Tapper published a review of Jill Biden’s new memoir, “View from the East Wing,” and commented on his analysis, reading excerpts from the book in a video he posted on CNN’s official Instagram account earlier this week.
“If you knew Joe Biden well, you’d know that if he actually got to the point where he wasn’t capable of doing the job, he would step down,” he said, reading from the book. “Certainly, if he exhibited cognitive impairment, I would not hesitate to say so. His staff would not hesitate to say so. But he was nowhere near that point in the summer of 2024.”

“All of that is very difficult to believe, if not just downright false,” said Tapper, who co-authored “Original Sin” with Axios’ Alex Thompson, giving a better-late-than-never assessment of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline in office.
“First of all, this nation’s history is full of examples of politicians who considered themselves selfless and self-aware who refused to give up power, former President Joe Biden just being the most glaring example,” Tapper said.
“The most charitable interpretation of Jill Biden’s book is that she’s still having a difficult time, understandably, talking about what we’re all seeing happen to [her husband] and what we’ve all been seeing happen to him for years,” he said. “A less forgiving version is that she’s been enabling it.”
“Now, she’s seeking to try to make an excuse for it, while also hinting here and there that there were things going on that she maybe doesn’t even want to acknowledge to herself,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hunter Biden’s criticism of Tapper triggered a wave of responses on X, where he continued to engage with other users. In another post, he claimed Trump is a “clone,” and something is amiss in the White House as he added another jab at Tapper.
