Hunter lawyers threatened DOJ by saying they would call Joe Biden to the stand, Politico reports

New York Post writer Miranda Devine shared damning claims from Politico concerning evidence that Hunter Biden was deeply involved in former President Trump’s first impeachment over Ukraine.

“Politico has a story about Hunter Biden’s plea deal, showing how his pricey lawyers manipulated the DOJ by threatening to put the president on the witness stand in a criminal trial if his son was charged, precipitating a ‘Constitutional crisis,'” Devine reported on X.

If that wasn’t bad enough, the next one was ground shaking.

“And this curious fact: Hunter was involved in the Trump impeachment over Ukraine. In the summer of 2019, he tells an adviser he has an all-day meeting ‘with impeachment lawyers.’ After 5 years, he still has not been interviewed by Weiss’ team or testified before the grand jury,” she added.

Hunter Biden’s legal team apparently threatened the Department of Justice that if the case against him on gun and drug charges went to trial, they would be forced to call President Biden to the stand in his defense, creating a Constitutional crisis.

“President Biden now unquestionably would be a fact witness for the defense in any criminal trial,” Christopher Clark, Hunter’s then-lead criminal defense attorney, wrote in a letter obtained by Politico.

“This of all cases justifies neither the spectacle of a sitting President testifying at a criminal trial nor the potential for a resulting Constitutional crisis,” Clark wrote.

That reportedly resulted in the now-failed “sweetheart” plea deal agreement for Hunter Biden.

It turns out that Hunter Biden was also inextricably involved in trying to take Trump down during the first failed impeachment attempt by Democrats.

“In the spring of 2022, Hunter Biden’s lawyers met with federal prosecutors to try to talk them out of charging their client. They had a 100-slide PowerPoint presentation in tow. The very first slide brought up Trump’s first impeachment and his ‘constant’ claims that Hunter Biden was a criminal,” Politico wrote.

“Biden’s saga had long been intertwined with Trump. Three years earlier, Trump had withheld military aid from Ukraine while pressuring the Ukrainian president to falsely announce that his country was investigating the younger Biden for his dealings with a Ukrainian gas company. Trump survived the impeachment that stemmed from the episode, and he repeatedly claimed throughout his 2020 reelection campaign that Joe Biden had engaged in corrupt deals with his son,” the media outlet speciously continued.

Then Politico made a stunning assertion.

“In the summer of 2019, according to one of the slides, Biden got sober and started working to make amends with the IRS. But he faced an unusual complication: He was at the center of Trump’s first impeachment. The slide deck cites an email one of Biden’s advisers sent him on Jan. 26, 2020, saying they would need several hours to go through questions and find documents as they tried to settle his tax bill,” the outlet contended.
