‘I hate to see it’: Trump says it’s a shame Bill and Hillary are being forced to testify in Epstein case

President Donald Trump reacted to Hillary and Bill Clinton being forced to testify before Congress for the Epstein investigation.

The House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Epstein has been somewhat stalled by a lack of cooperation from the Clintons, who have been accused of ducking their depositions. Former President Bill Clinton was friends with the late child sex predator and would likely be able to give key insight into his dealings. Now that he and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have agreed to testify, it appears that Trump is taking a sympathetic tone toward the pair.

Watch:

“Today, we heard that the Clintons set deposition dates to testify before the House Oversight Committee. Any reaction to that in relation to the Epstein [files]?” the president was asked.

“Ehhh, I think it’s a shame, to be honest. I always like him. Her, she’s a very capable woman. She was better at debating than some of the other people. I will tell you that. She was smarter. Smart woman,” Trump replied. “I hate to see it in many ways. I hate to see it, but, you know, then I look at me, they went after me like, you know, they wanted me to go to jail for the rest of my life. Then it turned out I was innocent, very innocent.”
