‘I would have every right…’ Trump finally weighs in on concern he’d seek retribution if elected

In an exclusive Fox News interview, former President Donald Trump said that the critics warning that he’ll seek retribution for his persecution if reelected to office are dead “wrong.”

“They’re wrong,” he said.

However, speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity, he stressed that he would nevertheless be fully entitled to seek some retribution if he desired it, especially given how far the left has already gone in persecuting him.

“It has to stop because otherwise, we’re not going to have a country,” Trump argued. “Look, when this election is over, based on what they’ve done, I would have every right to go after them, and it’s easy because it’s Joe Biden and you see all the criminality, all of the money that’s going into the family and him, all of this money from China, from Russia, from Ukraine.”

But, he continued, he doesn’t intend to go that route because it’s not what the public wants.

“When Biden goes out and everyone says, ‘Bye-bye,’ and then he gets indicted two days later — the country doesn’t want that,” he said. “They didn’t want it with Hillary Clinton either.”

Which was why, he explained, he ultimately chose to let Clinton off the hook after he assumed office in early 2017 — to avoid plunging America into the madness it now faces.

“What they’re doing to me, if it’s going to continue, we’re really not going to have much of a country left. It’s really, it is weaponization. You call it lawfare, you call it — some people call it just warfare — but it is weaponization of the election,” Trump asserted.

“And we’re talking about, I think, the most important election in the history of our country. This will go down, I believe, as the most important election in the history of our country. We can’t have this stuff go on,” he added.

Despite his words, if you type “Trump retribution” into Google, these are the garbage, biased, bull headlines you’ll encounter from the completely tarnished mainstream establishment press:

  • The Washington Post: “Trump wants retribution. That’s dangerous, unlawful and un-American.”
  • Daily Kos: “Trump ratchets up his retribution threats”
  • The New York Times: “Trump’s Vows to Prosecute Rivals Put Rule of Law on the Ballot”
  • MSNBC: “‘It’s very possible’: Trump suggests he’d jail Hillary Clinton as retribution for NYC verdict”
  • CNN: “Trump again suggests he would try to prosecute his political opponents if reelected”

Dishonesty much?

The CNN piece is particularly jarring because it’s based on the Fox News interview. The network even went so far as to get the Biden campaign’s response to its phony reporting.

“America saw Donald Trump consumed by rage and visibly rattled following his felony conviction; a man who has clearly snapped and whose candidacy is becoming more dangerous by the day,” Biden campaign spokesperson Michael Tyler said.

“Donald Trump is so consumed with personal grievance that he does not care who he hurts so long as Donald Trump benefits,” he added.

The irony was rich coming from a campaign and an entire party, in fact, that has eagerly weaponized the entire government, particularly the Department of Justice, to try and prevent Trump from being reelected to office.

Dovetailing back to the CNN piece, it gets worse.

“Trump, who has repeatedly called for the imprisonment of his 2016 Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton despite her never being charged with a crime, also said Tuesday that he thought it would have been a ‘terrible thing’ if Clinton went to jail,” it reads. “Trump recently falsely claimed in an interview with Fox News that he didn’t call to lock up Clinton.”

Lies, lies, and lies

Of course, Clinton was never charged with a crime. The Obama administration completely let her off the hook. But that doesn’t deflect from the fact that she DID commit crimes — crimes far more serious than the ones Trump has been accused of committing.

Also, Trump may have spoken about prosecuting and “locking Clinton up,” but he never actually went through with it. The same can’t be said of current President Joe Biden.
