Ilhan Omar now facing federal probe after investments jump nearly $30M

Both the House and federal investigators are reportedly looking into one Squad member’s “skyrocketing” portfolio growth beyond the concerns of the “Somali social services fraud scandal.”

Despite attempts to distract with protests and coordinated talking points, investigations remain underway as to who is benefiting from American taxpayer money meant for services like child care, especially in Minnesota. While such scrutiny continues, House Oversight Committee Chair Kentucky Rep. James Comer (R) noted a separate probe was looking specifically into Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) and how she and her husband had amassed as much as nearly $30 million in only a couple of years.

Appearing on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Tuesday, Fox News senior national correspondent Kevin Corke detailed, “What’s the old saying, follow the money? Well, that’s precisely what the House Oversight Committee is doing. They are probing Squad member Ilhan Omar’s skyrocketing family wealth, Jesse, especially in the wake of that $9 billion — some would argue $19 billion — Somali social services fraud scandal that exploded in her district in Minnesota.”

The correspondent went on to relay how Comer explained that attorneys are considering the “extraordinary step” of subpoenaing Omar’s spouse, Tim Mynett, over “curious business practices.”

“We’re going to get answers, whether it’s through the Ethics Committee or the Oversight Committee, one of the two,” the congressman told the New York Post. “There are a lot of questions as to how her husband accumulated so much wealth over the past two years. It’s not possible. It’s not. I’m a money guy. It’s not possible.”

Likewise, a federal law enforcement source told the newspaper, “We are investigating all politicians potentially connected to any of this [fraud] in Minnesota. You can read between the lines.”

As had been reported, Mynett and business partner Will Hailer formed the capital investment firm Rose Lake Capital in 2022. While Omar’s financial disclosure indicated the firm had less than $1,000 in assets in 2023, its reported value climbed to between $5 million and $25 million in a year with claims of managing $60 billion in assets.

Similarly suspicious, former Democratic Party officials, including those from President Barack Obama’s administration, had been “quietly scrubbed” as key officers from the firm’s website.”

Previously, Mynett faced scrutiny after he and Hailer were accused of defrauding investors in wine and weed ventures.

Meanwhile, Omar was joined by other Democrats at a show hearing in Minneapolis last week, where she sounded off with vitriol for the United States because of efforts by President Donald Trump’s administration to restore national sovereignty by use of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detaining and deporting illegal aliens.

After asserting, “I don’t want to curse,” she insisted, “Those of us who escaped places like that, the one place where we thought we would never experience this is the U.S. g****** states. And we should all be ashamed that it is the United States that is allowing for this to take place.”
